Hi!

I'm looking for a hotel on I-Drive for a post-Disney stay of 5 nights to enjoy Sea World and US.

I've checked tripadvisor, and expedia, and the Embassy Suites Jamaican Court seems to meet all of our requirements -- clean, relatively new, microwave, refrigerator, pool, a bit set back from the traffic, a separate sleeping area for ds9, two t.v.s, and a free breakfast.

I just would feel better about booking by checking here first. Has anyone stayed there? How was it? Would you recommend it?

All replies are greatly appreciated!

I've stayed there (as well as at the Conv. Ctr. South location). We were very satisfied.

You may want to ask for a room on the side away from the interstate. That's what we did, and it was very quiet.

Be sure to check out the packages that they offer. When we stayed there, we got their Universal Meal and a Movie package, and it was cheaper than the regular rate we paid for the extra night. You can pay the package rate for those 2 nights, and then just pay the other rate for your extra nights.

They also have SW and US/IOA packages, so be sure to check out the packages. Here's the site - http://www.orlandoembassysuites.com/specials.php

ETA: I just looked, and since you're going to be there 5 nights, you could actually book one of the 2 night packages and one of the 3 night packages. I checked on doing just that a few months ago, and they said that was fine (unfortunately, my business trip was canceled).

Good luck!

Wow! This sounds fabulous! Thanks so much for the information, and the link!

I am definitely going to check out the deals before I make my reservation. I was going to go with a AAA rate, but it sounds like you might have saved me a bundle!

Thanks Again!

I hope you're able to save some money!

Acquaint youself with Universal Blvd. (maybe Universal Drive, I can't remember for sure). Much of it runs parallel to International Drive, and traffic tends to move much better on it than on I-Drive.

Also, there is a trolley that runs up and down I-Drive if that's helpful (a 5 day unilimited pass is only $7, I think). I had a minivan for our group, but some of the others used the trolley to get out and do some things on their own.

Wow, this really surprised me.

I checked the prices on the website ($188 pp for SeaWorld & $291 pp for US 3 nights), and it is actually a better deal for us to take the AAA rate ($120/nt) and buy tickets individually w/the online specials at each venue.

Right now, I can get adult SeaWorld tickets (2 days) for $54 each, and unlimited access Universal tickets for $85 each.

Unless there's something I'm missing, I'm better off making my own package. Who knew?!

The package prices seem to have gone up a LOT. When we were there, it came out better to do the package (and I even got the gov't rate).

We liked the hotel. It's barely off I-Drive but enough that is seems more private. It's closer to US than SW. Depending on when you're going, it would probably be faster to go around Universal Blvd. to get to SW.

I think they have a evening "reception" with snacks and things, but I'm not sure, because we never did it.

We're planning on getting the $85 tickets for US/IOA for our next trip too. That's a fantastic value!

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all your advice. We are staying here after being onsite at Disney, so we are hoping for a more relaxed environment. This sounds perfect!

Good luck with your next trip as well!

One more thing, you didn't ask about the pool, but it's an indoor/outdoor pool. Half of it is inside with the other half outside (you can swim from one side to the other).

You might also check to see if ES-JC has a Orlando Magicard rate. Some properties offer some really good deals. You can get an Magicard (free) from www.go2orlando.com.
