I don't understand....we have booked embassy suites i.drive with our TA who has it brochured as a 4*.

But I have just seen it on the Disney good neighbour site - as a 2*!!!

Now that is certainly a difference, I don't want to stay in a 2*!

There are two Embassy Suites on I-Drive. What is the address for the one you're staying at?

I am not seeing it.

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/totallist.cfm

where are you looking?

sometimes it is the location (the ID is not close to WDW) that can cause this to be lower - because how long it took guest to get to WDW.

I tried to find a review on this place - with tripadvisor or yahoo and neither have one - very strange?

AAA is giving it 3 stars.

3 stars with AAA can be anywhere from a great hotel (disney) to a nightmare (Holiday inn sunpree)

I am mad at AAA - they have a tendency to rate hotels by their costs - which is stupid.

they downgraded the All stars to 2 stars - well I am sorry - if they are 2 stars so are most of the hotels that AAA has 3 stars....

AAA really needs to badly redo its star rating.

to be more honest and real - so people won't assume that a 3 star means a 3 star....

It;s the embassy suites on I'drive South.
I'm really unsure what to do now - it has both cooked breakfast and drinks in the evening which looks great - AND it's walking distance from everything. But the Vistana Villages looks amazing, but would mean getting the I trolley about.

And the THIRD option is the Wyndham.....

CONFUSED!

OP: NO WAY that place is four stars.

As far as how AAA rates, it's not just based on cleanliness. It's also based on amenities, and factors such as crowds, noise levels, comfort, etc. IMHO based on my experiences there, two stars is about right for the All Stars. In fact our last stay there our room was dirty and we had oodles of issues with guest services.

Personally I think the only WDW resort rooms I've been in that are deserving of four stars are Main Buildnig GF, our king room 14th floor CR (although I understand many of the suites there are in dire need of rehab), and the AKL. The rest are all just solid three's, and some won't even make it that far.

I'm thinking you're not planning on renting a car?

We've stayed at the Wyndham Orlando. It was fine:)

We didn't go to the parks when we stayed there, though. (We didn't have a car for that trip. We just used the IRide to go shopping at Belz, and just stayed at the resort swimming. It was a nice, relaxing few days to wind up the last days of vacation)

If you wouldn't mind sharing a little more about your trip plans, ie when, and how many traveling, ages.. we could help with some suggestions:)

A 2* wouldn't be my cup of tea, either..

Let us know:)

We stayed at this Embassy Suites last week and it was fine. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast. The first room we were given, the a/c was loud and we were going to be spending a lot of time in the room, so we switched rooms but there was no problem doing that - the front desk staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The outdoor pool was nice (we didn't use the indoor one). The evening reception was drinks and snacks like chips, popcorn, pretzel, salsa - nothing that you could make a meal out of, but enough to take the afternoon edge off, or to refresh after a long day.

It is conveniently located to walk to a lot of restaurants, etc. on International Drive - it's right next door to the Olive Garden and a couple of blocks from Pointe Orlando (Wonder Works, limited shopping, a few restaurants, and a movie theater).

The hotel was pretty full when we were there, but no long waits for elevators. We stayed on the 6th floor.

There is a Trolley stop just out of the hotel - and you can buy your multi-day Trolley passes at the concierge desk in the hotel.

The room has a living room area with sofa, t.v., table and chairs, and a kitchenette - sink, microwave, small refrigerator. The bathroom is off the living room. The bedroom had two double beds, t.v., armoire, dresser. The hotel has wireless internet for about $10/day.

FWIW, I wouldn't give it 4*s but it's not 2*s either - I'd give it a 3* rating.

Well - still no decision made yet. We decided to change to VV but when I went to do it online it wouldn't work - looks like it will have to wait for tomorrow. At least that's more time to think about it....

2 adults - 1 wk on I.drive, Disney after, NY before. We mainly like to be on I drive to eat and shop!

Thanks, nzdisneymom, for your review :thumbsup2 I'm glad you found the hotel okay :)

...dis-me, did you decide to go with VV? Or stay with the ES? For your travel plans, it certainly sounds like a good fit, and nzdisney's mom rating "adjustment" would make me feel better about staying there :goodvibes
