I'm sorry but most people myself included would trade you if that's all you have to be embarrassed about in your family.

For a lot of people, the 20s are a time of having fun and exploring what they want to do with their lives. Why in the world would you sit around and gossip about somebody doing something so innocuous?I think you could focus on being a good role model for your kids.To me, that might mean that you could teach them not to comment on another person's appearance unless they are making a compliment. My siblings and I have a neat tradition-we have a monthly lunch with our elderly Mom. At these lunches we talk about ourselves, our lives and our kids.
Sister has a DD same age as MuscleBoy. She graduated from college already and is working in her field for 3 years now. I guess that is where the "explaining" happens-why this semester he dropped all his courses but one, why the next semester he changed his major.
Every semeester there is a new twist- now he's onto the third major. Funny thing is he (Muscleboy) never , ever discusses college-only his bodybuilding. and , no, it brings in no $$. He works at Walmart, in the automotive area, changing tires as his job.
Well, he may only have one class, but contrary to your name you have absolutely no class.
Wow-kind of an "attacking" post here.
Nope-not the wedding person
Everytime I meet with the Bodybuilder's father (my brother) we hear a list of excuses why he is in college for now 7 years, why this semester he only takes ONE class, yada-yada.
His total focus is bodybuilding-I guess that is what bothers me.
I don't "monitor" his Facebook-just happened upon this pic today and it "skeeved" me out. blech

I don't say these things to my kids, my brother or the nephew-just letting steam off here.
Wouldn't it be typical for body builders to wear clothing to flex their muscles? What's the point of having them, if you can't flex them so that people can see them? It doesn't really seem strange to me. At least he doesn't come to Christmas gathering with no shirt at all on.My brother's son-in college-has become a big time Body Builder & posts pictures of himself on Facebook
My kids only see him a few times a year-but see his Facebook pictures , but think the huge muscles and the deep deep tan is just bizarre.
At our family Christmas events , he comes in a short sleeve shirt so he can flex his muscles and show off. I find it sort of strange.
So every time my kids say something about him and roll their eyes, I try to be diplomatic![]()

I agree. But I get the impression that High Class is into "investigating" what people online are up to.Maybe you shouldn't keep looking at it if it bothers you that much.
(Oops! There's that preposition at the end of a sentence!

I thought the children that were rolling their eyes were just that, children, but now realize they are "young professionals". They really have nothing better to do than make fun of their cousin because he is a body builder? How sad. He is not hurting anyone, what difference does it make to you how many years he goes to college, what he majors in, or how much he tans?Isn't that the truth!? Heck, my family has molestors, thieves, druggies & drunks, lazy living off welfare, underage pregnancies, bigots whose kids have interracial relationships, and uncle who married someone who used to be his niece, habitual liars, trouble makers, ultra religious, etc.
At family get togethers, there are those who bring foods you don't dare eat and you have to watch your all your belongings or they might get taken. And before any eating is done, we have to patiently wait through a fifteen minute prayer.
Consider yourself lucky.
You just described my upcoming family reunion. If I have to listen one more time how my uncle who molested my cousin is volunteering in the church as a teen group leader I am going to scream. That same cousin got hooked up with a guy that was of another race and I thought my grandparents were going to have a stroke and the rest f the family is barely talking to her. She has 4 kids, no job that i know of and her ex husbands greatest achievment was landing a job at Hard Rock. and that's just the tip of the iceburg.
Why be embarrassed by someone who's dedicated to a sport? Not my cup of tea, but I would accentuate the positive.
