Embarrassing My Children…..Just Another Service I Provide! Update post #50!

We finally make it into the Magic Kingdom dock! Here’s out welcoming party….he seemed less then overwhelmed to see us.

(There's a bird on those pillers if it isn't obvious)

Bag check was easy and no problem getting through the turnstiles so let’s make a bee-line for the castle shall we? Nope….I get sidelined by Disney Research. Maybe I’m a sucker or I have “ask me” written on my forehead. Last trip I was heading out of Epcot to go to the car to retrieve the “left in error” raincoats from the car during a downpour. I was elected as I was the only one who thought to keep one in my bag and everyone else chose to hide in the Land Pavilion. The minute I hit the gates POP! There’s a Disney researcher asking me if I was leaving the parks due to the weather….heck no! I’ll be right back! Found out later that night our little rain storm spawned a tornado that touched down near Orlando….oops….maybe the smart thing would have been to leave ….
IMG_1892.jpg

The research was fairly harmless, just a few questions on how we got there today and our transportation experience, and we were on our way to the castle once again.

Closer……closer……

And BAM! There it is ….. hold please for a teary moment…..

After that we ran smack into the Celebrate Parade! Talk about a wonderful way to start our journey around the Magic Kingdom! Mom danced and clapped and the characters looked right at her. The stilt walkers were amazing. Mom said that she just let go and danced like she didn’t have a care in the world and I was so thankful that she had agreed to come just to experience that feeling of “dancing like no one is watching”.

Here’s a few pictures and to leave you with for tonight!

Hey you have a made a good start already !!
Cant wait to read more !!

:figment:loving your trippie! your view was great. been thinking about trying AK on next visit. but worried about the size. heard the walks to the rooms are crazy long. looking forward to reading more,

I promise to get off my butt about this report!!!

Between Christmas preparations and a massive windstorm we've had this week things are conspiring against me!

Speaking of storms they are calling for more bad weather for tonight and that's the last things folks in our area need....lots of people with tarps on their roofs and trees hanging on telephone wires....so if you're the praying kind please send a few up for us!

I'll try and get us past the castle tonight!

Boy, I use exclamation points a lot.......!

Hey Applemomma!

Glad to see your report up and running. I remember when this trip was just a gleam in your eye-it seemed like it was forever and a day away. How time flies.

So glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Wish I had talked my Mom into a scooter for our last trip. We were always waiting for her, she had horrible blisters and usually ended up leaving us early. She certainly didn't have those happy looks on her face that your mom did.

My apologies for taking FOREVER! Between Christmas prep and life in general (including a 3 day power outage last week) I never seem to make time to get back to this….I’ll do my best from now on!

After the parade the crowds seemed to thin out around the hub and we swung to the left and headed towards Liberty Square, hanging a right behind the castle to get to our first ‘must do ride’ – it’s a small world

IMG_1949.jpg

I was a little disappointed this trip that the castle never seemed to be open for a walk through. Maybe it was because of the multiple “Dreams Come True” shows going on or maybe my timing was off. Oh well, we’ll have to save looking at the gorgeous murals in there again for our next trip.

The girls and I had decided pretrip that ‘it’s a small world’ is our first ride Disney tradition (amazing how you can make traditions in only two trips) because it was Mom’s favorite ride from the trip we took as a kid. We timed this trip just right and ‘it’s a small world’ had just opened recently after a refurb to the queue line. I imagine they must have dusted out the dolls too….can you imagine how long that would have taken!!!

New queue line where the old exit used to be…..

IMG_1744.jpg

This is where we started really paying attention to the Cast member’s name tags to see where they were from and this lovely CM in training was from China…

IMG_1746.jpg

Can’t quiet remember we’re her “trainer” was from but we had a great chat with him while we were waiting for our boat.

IMG_1745-1.jpg

I won’t fill this trip report page with pictures upon pictures of the ride but I will put in a shot of my favorite part of the ride…..the little kid in me always gets tickled by the “Ma’assalama” goodbye….insert “my a$$ is a lama. What’s yours?” jokes here

IMG_1749-1.jpg

Okay….I’ll post this and then work on the next part….short and sweet is better then none at all right?!

Hey you are teasing us now right??
I am shocked that Its a small world is anyones tradition ?? Personally we aim to avoid as that song gets right in your head but maybe because we were stook on it once and had to sit for nearly an hour!! Trust me when I say it was enough to make sure you NEVER get in a boat surrounded my little people ever again lol

LOL Louise! :lmao:We actually did it more then once! In fact we got stopped at one point and I was cheering because I was hoping to get a ride evacuation under my belt this trip....no such luck this time....turned out it was just slow unloading due to a group ahead of us that needed to transfer to wheelchairs.....dang :rolleyes1

Can you imagine having to tiptoe through all those singing dolls?!

NOOOOO really dont make me thinking about getting too close to the freaky singing dolls !!!
Multiple visits every trip?? Really you have shot up to Hero ststus in my books :rotfl2:

After our voyage through Mary Blair’s dolls we headed back towards the castle and spotted the Fairy Godmother! A little back ground….when we first encouraged my mom to try out the DisBoards we set her up with an account and she ended up, whether by her own doing or our suggestion, with the name TheFairyGrandMother so seeing the Fairy GodMother was definitely on our to do list! We jumped in line with perfect timing because the cast member told the next family that the Fairy GodMother was about to go on her break and we were her last family for awhile….score!!

The Fairy GodMother was SO wonderful with us! I think because there was no one else waiting she spent extra time with us and gave us such a magical experience. Mom and she sang “Bibbity Bobbity Boo” together and she told Mom how wonderful it was to have old friends come visit her. Yes, my kids were in the picture with her but the Fairy GodMother made this character experience all about my mother and it was such a wonderful way to start!! You couldn’t wipe our smiles off for a long time after that….

IMG_2049.jpg

After a quick stop at the “facilities” and to shove some pretzels and trail mix into us (we lived on the stuff that week) we headed for the Tea Cups!

Not too sure about this….
IMG_2069.jpg

We survived!!!
IMG_2070.jpg

After exiting the ride and figuring out just which stone wall/tree we had left Mom’s scooter beside (they all look alike when you’re dizzy!!) we headed for Toontown for one last visit to Minnie and Mickey’s houses before they are gone forever into the chaos known as the FantasyLand Expansion …..I hope this things don’t end up laying in the junkyard where they dumped the Nautilus Submarines and the wand from SpaceShip Earth.

IMG_2108.jpg

And here’s where I get the opportunity to live up to the name of my trip report….hee hee (please note though, in my defense, I did not purposely commit the following act in an effort to mortify my children….honestly….I didn’t…..)

If you are at all familiar with Walt Disney World you probably know that Disney is in the details! Including stuff you wouldn’t notice right off…..

Look how lovely Mickey has decorated for Christmas….lots of detail right?

IMG_1770.jpg

Note the antenna on Mickey’s tv….a not so hidden Mickey right?

IMG_2119.jpg

Well, said tv had a light in it….and was facing away from me….just begging me to see what was on tv….I’ll just lean in a little to see what’s on…

If you haven’t seen it coming by now folks let me tell you ….this thing is RIGGED! Loud blaring, carnival ride machine is coming to a stop, siren alarm rigged…..:scared1:

My apologies to all those around me within earshot at the time……..

More, More, More !! Please x

The fairy godmother experience gave me goosebumps - its lovely when something extra special happens x x x

It gave me goosebumps too! It was as though it was meant to happen just for us :)

:lmao: Did the Disney police come and drag you away for trespassing in Mickey's living room?

I was waiting for them! I was sure a cast member would have at least come to see if I was laying on Mickey's couch but nada...nobody...nothin'

Sure made me paranoid though for the rest of the trip ...scared to reach out for anything in case I set off more car alarms!

Aww what a touching story with the fairy godmother...things like that truly make Disney the best place in the world.

And yikes about the alarm...I had no idea that that happens if you lean over to much:goodvibes

Back to hassle for an update !!

Happy new year to you and your family x x x
