Embarkation lunch on the Dream?

We will be cruising Oct 6th on the Dream out of Miami and we’re wondering if we should head up to Cabanas or to the sit down offering (Enchanted Garden or Animators Pallette?) My wife has a gluten food allergy so I know at Cabanas that could take some time.

That said, how is the sit down lunch on embarkation day on the Dream? Any stand our menu items? Or would you recommend just heading up to Cabanas?

For reference we (4) have a PAT of 11:15am boarding group 4.

Thanks!

My wife has an egg and shrimp allergies, so we almost always go to the sit downs for any breakfast and lunch. They do a great job with her allergies. It is a lot calmer and the Welcome Aboard Sundae is good.

We had the same PAT this past weekend - Animators was open and we were there first ones in the restaurant. It was probably our best meal of the cruise. Highly recommend it over Cabanas!

Love the sit down lunch! It's so much more relaxing than Cabanas. I always get the empanada, but I'm guessing that's not gluten-free. The sliced roast beef sirloin is usually good (it's served like a prime rib).

I've heard others rave about the carrot cake (not the same as in Cabanas), but we always either skip dessert or get the sundae.

Gluten allergy here, too. The sit down lunch on the Dream in Animator's Palette is very good, and I will do that every time we sail on the Dream! They have done an excellent job accommodating my allergy and I even have several options, which I always appreciate. It is such a calm atmosphere to take care of business like logging onto the WiFi, looking over the Navigator, setting up chat, planning our afternoon, etc.

Egg allergy here. We love lunch in an MDR, and AP is very good. Nothing like starting the cruise being fully waited-on. Cabanas is good, but it's like eating in a packed Walmart, with kids everywhere, people cutting in line, etc.

Yes! There's always one person in our group who can't get the wifi and app to work. While we're sitting at the table is a good time for us to get that all sorted. We do the muster station check in after lunch (even when they try to make us do it first). Then it's usually about time for the staterooms to be available.

We always do the sit down lunch. Very elegant - you are on a cruise, being served, calm surroundings (the 3 children in our party do much better sit-down than in Cabanas), a nice glass of wine - is a great start. The most recent Dream cruise a cast member even was going table to table to help with apps. The food - everything is good, possibly the best meal of the cruise. The prime rib is amazing, the grilled salmon salad is equally good. The sundae is my pick for dessert but others in my party are carrot cake fans.
