Embarkation day lunch question

Parrot Cay on the Wonder is the equivalent of Enchanted Garden. We have always had lunch at Enchanted Garden (Fantasy), Carioca's (Magic) or Parrot Cay on embarkation day. Actually prefer the menu on the classic ships.

Would room service work for you? When your cabin is available about 1:30, you could place an order. My daughter did that on one recent cruise.

It's my understanding that room service cannot guarantee food for those with allergies will be available.

We're going on the Wonder... anyone have any thoughts on their restaurants on embarkation day? I'm REALLY appreciating all the input from everyone!

We were on the Wonder, so my previous comment of eat before you board still stands

Also, room service was able to accommodate our allergies. In fact, the only way to get a (nasty, soggy) GF pizza on board was through room service.

Haha! I had super high hopes. We ordered pizza almost every day on our 14 night WBPC. Every 5th pizza or so was decent. Haha! The GF dinner rolls were good. Oh and strangely, they did not have GF hot dog or hamburgers buns either. I do not know if it was specific to our cruise or what. OH...the gf donuts are YUMMY! I am still thinking about them almost a year later.

Yes, Disney does a decent GF Mickey Waffle, (GF brownie and cookies are prepackaged and pretty good)...GF Pizza.. I'll pass.. It's just not the same. I've gotten used to burgers without buns.

Just a warning/tip: Every time we get onboard -- any of their ships -- there is always a cast member either near the gangway or at the elevators, trying to direct everyone to Cabanas. When you ask about the restaurant, they tell you they would prefer you go to Cabanas. We just ignore them and go to the restaurant -- it's much quieter, more space to leave your carryons, and your drinks are brought to you.

First cruise we were actually ushered onto the elevators...suddenly I felt like Ralphie in a Christmas Story..."football, what's a football"...took a second to realize where we were...I quickly ushered my family off the elevator....I get that the CMS are trying to balance the number of guests but...I like the sit down experience

Mickey Waffles were not available on the Wonder last June We were so excited only to find out the GF ones were a frozen variety and not Mickey shaped. I think they have them on the two larger ships.

Good to know. I need Gluten free myself. Don't want to spend my cruise time sick! Disneyworld restaurants have always been so good about this - preparing food special for me so I don't have to worry. I don't go to buffets anywhere else!

I was just on the Wonder. We ate lunch on embarkation day. While in the line, a staff member/chef walked up to the family behind, asked their name and asked to escort them in line to show them what was appropriate for the young girl to eat. He took care to answer questions and ask them as well. I could tell he wanted to make sure everything was OK. When you go in, they ask your room number and check the notes. As said above, make sure your TA /Disney know your needs.

FWIW, I discovered on our Fantasy cruise and then again on our B2B Dream cruises recently and it may or may not apply to the other two ships in some form:

If I preordered Mickey Waffles for breakfast the night before (so, order them after dinner when I am ordering dinner for the next day), then they could make me Mickey Waffles safe for my allergies (milk, peanut, tree nut, seafood). If I waited until the morning, no Mickey Waffles for me ! If I waited until morning they could give me safe waffles, but they appeared to be a heated round frozen waffle (and I would guess was probably the GF/allergy-friendly stock frozen waffle).

On our B2B each night at dinner I ordered all 3 meals for the next day, including for breakfast and lunch designating where I would have the meal. I ordered Mickey Waffles most days; if I forgot my server would remind/ask me to make sure I did or did not want them

We just got off the ship with two kids with severe allergies.
The first day we ate in Cabanas and a chef came out and showed us what we can eat.
The same was done at every buffet meal.
At sit down meals, their food was prepared separately and had a red cover on it to differentiate it.

At Castaway a special meal was prepared and delivered there.

And even on disembarkation day, we are at Cabana's and our server sent up special food for us.
