I was just wondering how many of you have happened upon something embarassing at the Disney Resorts. During our stay (Dec. 19-26th) at the AKL, we decided we wanted to let the children swim (on a warm night) and hit the spa. So we go down all ready. We were going to let the kids play in the water for a while, but I hear the spa calling my name. So DH says let's go. So we walk over to the spa. Needless to say we were in for a shock. As we were coming around a corner, there was a guy pulling down his swimming shorts  I am short, but right then I wish I was shorter. You can imagine what we saw!!! The guy turns around and see us and my husband yells out, is that really neccessary? He pulled those shorts up real quick. I was really glad that my children were little (shorter than us) or they would have gotten an eyeful. I was angry. I thought there were cameras all over the place. Oh well. So much for trying out the spa.

Did you get security? People who expose themselves can be dangerous to others

Honestly, I was so shocked, my main thoughts were trying to make sure my children stopped walking to the spa. You know how they are, they get so excited they walk ahead. I go running to try and stop them from turning the corner, and then hurried them away. I was so mad, it reallly stopped me from doing anything.

I can imagine it was an awful shock!! I am mad just hearing about it! I am glad your children didn't see him and hope he decided to behave from now on.

ummm does embarrassing yourself count??? I lost my top coming down the volcano slide at the Polynesian. I felt it coming off and just held on for the ride. I "think" I spared small children a show but I did get a couple of smiles the rest of the afternoon from the men folk. DH giggled all day. Needless to say I didnt go down the slide again until I had my trusty Speedo one piece ;)

embarassing yourself definately counts :teeth: I imagine you did get some looks. I think this is why I never ever wear two piece swimming suits. I don't want any oops!!!

 Do you think he was taking them off to get back into his regular clothes and thought no one was around? Or was he going into the tub nude?

Tinky, Have you looked at your homepage in your profile lately????

You might want change it or something.

Somebody must have played a joke on you or something , because I just got an eyeful.:scared1:

Oh dear heavens.....

Wow!
Its gone!

no, the guy was definately not changing clothes. he was standing up in the hot tub (spa). He was being nude to be nude. He yelled back sorry, but it was kinda late for that.

Yikes! I thought he was outside the tub, now I understand what you meant about being short......

Tinky,

Has been voted most popular girl at the volcano slide at the Polynesian.

Uh, this is why hot tubs are starting to skeve (?) me. Oh gosh - who knows what was going on before he stood up. :earseek:

I have seen many partially or fully nude people in the water parks and figure it is just foreign people who have no clue that nudity here is unacceptable. I was in Fantasyland one time when I noticed a young girl around age 11 with no shirt. Everybody was staring, but nobody was doing anything about it, so I informed the mother of the clothing policy (asked her if she knew you had to wear shirts in the park and she said they did not). The mother grabbbed her daughter and quickly covered her. The young girl was extremely embarrassed. :( I felt badly for her. She was so excited about being at WDW.

He was an american guy that's for sure. I just think that if you are in a public place not knowing when or who could come around the corner that you would exercise decency. If we had just come straight from the trees instead of around the corner, my kids would have seen a sight I'm sure I'd still be explaining.:faint:

I'll never forget when I lived in Germany going to a conference and staying at a hotel with a swimming pool and sauna. I walked into the sauna, and to my shock, there were about 3 naked guys lounging around. I squeeked an "excuse me", and beat a quick retreat. I could just see them snickering..."Americans!" LOL

It's funny how modest Americans are compaired to the Europeans. But that being said, I cannot imagine going to a sauna in the states and being greeted by some guy mooning me. It DOES make you wonder what he was doing before you arrived. Personally, that's why I stay away from hot tubs used by the public, too many potentialy nasties floating around in them. They say the clorine kills the germs, but UG!

Getting back to the original question......this is a completely different track, but it is embarassing to witness families fighting at WDW when we're all in line and can't escape.
Our family has witnessed two such "blow outs". One while in line to do the highest slide at BB and the other while in line for the RRrC. It boggles my mind how personal and mean (and LOUD) people can get with each other in public. And it made me mad both times to have to be around such negative vibes in our family's dream trip. The one good thing that came out of it was we had a quiet discussion about rudeness and how families should work out their disagreements in private, not in public. Plus it makes my DH and I so proud of our own two kids (and each other).....

I also feel sorry for those folks...if they can't get along as a family in WDW, where can they get along!!??

WDW in June/July
