I have received a few emails back as undeliverable..........(that I never sent) I have scanned my computer and am virus free but Norton picks up several emails a day that contain viruses. My email is also automatically scanned before it goes out.

So, did my email address get picked up from someone else's address book so that it looks like it's coming from me? And, what if anything, can I do about it??

Thanks.

This has been happening to me as well and I'm fairly sure my system is clean (I do daily scans with both Norton and Spybot, both of which are kept current). Most likely someone who doesn't protect their system very well has your e-mail address in their address book, and the virus is using it to spoof you as the sender.

WDWHound is exactly right !

I'm an IT person, and we are hearing this quite a bit. Keep up to date wtih your norton scans and virus defs, and don't open any attachments !!!

Someone who has you in their address book has this virus.

Yup...it is all over the place...
the nastiest one I have seen lately is if you work for a company you will get an email from an address like "administration@yourcompany.com"
and it will tell you there has been a complaint and you need to open the attached file
It's a virus!
