I just bought a set of two-ways this summer with the idea we could use them for several Scout outings but with the main idea of having them for the cruise!

Day late or is that early in this case?

we took a set of radios(Motorola Talkabouts) on our last trip, but they didnt seem to work well. Does anyone have any tips on making them work R.E. eliminating static and crosstalk?is there certain channels, or a trick to make them work better I'd like to try them again, as they could really be useful.

Thanks

We bought a set of two ways at the begining of the month. They were on the FRS channels and claimed to have a 2 mile radius. HA! NOT. The kids can't even take them to the park and be in contact. I knew these Mickey 2 ways were coming out and I'm way bummed that they're only for FRS channels.

They are *so* cool, but our family just needs more radio power.

Disney Themed Radios

As I see it, they look cute and probably work no better or worse than any other FRS radio. I don't think I would buy them because, as cute as they are, they would be great for my WDW trips, but I can't see myself, or my wife walking around the mall and being seen with them. It would look like you borrowed your 6 year old's toys!

We bought our Motorolas for our first DCL cruise back in '99. They are not as nice as the new ones we just bought. The old ones worked great in the park and we did use them on the ship. We had some static but not bad. The channels can be fine tuned, if you are on say 5 you can pick 5.6 The 6 would show up as a smaller number in the upper right corner. When we had cross talk we just changed channels say 5.7 The new ones work up to 2 miles away. We haven't used those on a cruise but we do use them on our boat here in Iowa talking to our friends on their boat. (We don't want the entire lake community listening on our private talk on the regular radio) The lake we boat on is over 8.5 miles long and we can always tell when we get into range of 2 miles. That is when the radios work. Kathy
