Oh poor little Em. I hope she gets better very soon.

Please tell her that her good friend Hagrid wanted to send her some furry little Zithwops, but he wasn't sure how they'd hold up in shipping. (Technically speaking, I'm not allowed to do magic or I'd owl them over to her)

But if you can get your hands on them, Delswife, Zithwops are wonderful creatures for colds and the like. They're brown and furry, about the size of chipmunks with six legs and big red eyes and live to suck phlegm. They'd clear up her little lungs in no time flat!

Very cute little buggars. Perfect for small children.

Get better Em and I'm glad you've got a wonderful mum there to take care of you.

Robin, I'm so happy that Em is safe and sound under your watchful eyes! I can feel the love you have for that child in every post and she is so lucky to have you in her life!!

She FINALLY woke up long enough to have some chicken noodle soup, a big bottle of water and some orange sherbet ice cream.

She's looking much better, but she still has a junky cough.

Bigsis, no her mom made other plans for Christmas. The plans didn't include Em.

I can not imagine making plans without my children at Christmas. She sounds like a real winner.

Not his year, but it will be okay because we were together in October in Disney and after the New Year my mom and I are going to South Carolina to visit him.

Originally we were going to be in Disney in December rather than October, but Brother's wife couldn't possibly make it in December.

So the October trip was our Christmas trip and all the kids understood that. We will still do something, but on a very small scale because they all want to be in Disney for next Christmas.

I can't either and it's hard to just say, "Well, she's young and inexperienced" because I was a very young mother. I don't think she has grasped the entire parenting thing just yet.

Robin, I promise I am not trying to hijack your thread, I have been following the story of poor Em, and I am SOOOOOO glad she is getting the TLC she deserves. I just wanted to address this one little thing.

That's not fair to your kids dad. I am so glad that DH's ex-wife trades every other year with us. This year it's her year for Christmas morning, but next will be ours. Just something to think about. We just do our Christmas stuff , Christmas Eve morning and day instead (and she does the same when she doesn't have them Christmas).

Em's mom not really putting up a fuss over getting her on Christmas day is to your advantage..... Just like my DD9's dad he has only seen her on Chrismas day twice, once when she was 6 weeks and once at 13 months. It is their loss and our gain...As long as it does not bother the kids I am not very good at sharing anyway (just kidding)

( as a side note : didn't mean to offend anyone out there with my comment and my Ex lives only 10 mins away -which means he see thems very offen but he gets them every Thanksgiving all day - Christmas Eve every year and the afternoon of Christmas Day every year . so I am by no means keeping him from sharing the joy of the holidays with his children - sorry if it sounded that way to some of you. )
