Em update

I'm so glad to hear that she is home with you! Now you can take care of her. Sending more prayers and pixie dusts your way.

I know I feel better now...I'm sure you do, too! So sorry that Em's mom is, well, a, poopy head. Being a Mom myself, there's NO WAY I would let my child go anywhere, with anyone, while they were soo sick...I guess it just shows you again a bit about her mom. :( Poor Em. With all the love and care you guys have for her, she'll be well in no time!! And, all that rest is GOOD for her. :D Better than being awake and miserable.

Thats great you got to go get her. I have to say Im really suprised though. I know it was hard on your family while she was sick and you had no control over what was going on. I would have been crazy if one of my babies was sick and he was with someone else. Especially if that someone didnt have a very good grasp of the situation as it seems her "mom" did not.

I know! I kept thinking to myself how I would NEVER let someone else take my sick child.

I still can't get over it.

But I am so glad she is here where I know every second of whats going on.

Did I mention the only reason Del & I found out she was sick, was when the pharmacy called for our insurance information?

Her mom didn't think she was sick enough to call us. She also believed she was going to school today.

She is STILL sleeping. She wakes up every couple hours, says "Hiya." and goes right back to sleep.

Yeah, she could have of gone to school.

Yes, but would she have woken up to get off of the bus? She might have slept right through. (A little humor)

How scary. :( Poor thing. But if that reaction is what it took to get her into good hands, so be it. At least she's in good hands now. And she continues to have my prayers.

I was once down for a solid month with pneumonia when I was about 10. Yep, I slept a *lot* with it. And read when I wasn't sleeping. Then with the flu this year, extreme exhaustion is one of the symptoms, I believe. So it doesn't surprise me that she's sleeping so much. That's good.

Get as much hot tea, hot chicken soup, hot jello, and sprite down her you can. At least those always help me get better.

Robin,

Good thing she is with your family and being cared for properly. It is ok that she is not eating, just make sure she continues drinking enough fluids. Small sips of liquid, popsicles, jello, soup, etc. Also sleep is the best thing for her. Good luck.:D

I'm glad Em is with you now. Saying a prayer that she feels better soon.:sunny:

I am so happy that Em has settled in with you for the next few weeks. I know you were worried sick about her. Isn't it great that our children survive us so well. We all make so many mistakes as parents! Have a lovely holiday!

Hi Robin. I'm glad Em is with you. The poor thing. pneumonia is very exhausting. Sleep is the best thing.

I'm glad the Em's with you Robn and hopefully she'll be recovering her shortly with all the rest and tender loving care that she's receiving.

I'm glad she's with you and Del. I'm sure now you're both feeling much better. Hope she gets better real soon.

Robin-

Glad to hear Em is with you and Del right now!

did Kelli sleep every minute? Em just keeps konking out. I was talking to her on the ride back home and when I looked over she was sound asleep, head back and snoring.

I know I am not zurgswife, but when Maiya (DD 2 yrs) had pneumonia, she was sleeping 18+ hours a day. Something she didn't even do as a newborn!! So don't worry about that. Maiya didn't eat much either. Just keep Em hydrated or you will find yourself in the hospital with her hooked up to an IV.

So happy she is home with all of you ::yes::

Hope she is feeling better soon.

Robin,

So sorry Em had that reaction, but glad she is with you who will watch her night and day! Both my kids have had the flu this season - over Thanksgiving - and I would term it a mild case of whatever is going around - moderate temps around 100 or so and SLEEPY! My kids are not sleepers and boy I didn't have to convince either of them to nap when they had the flu. So don't worry if Em is sleeping it off. My kids would tell you that their soldiers are working to kick those icky bugs out of their bodies and they work best when you sleep. ;)

Hydration is the most important thing - as you probably already know. My kids didn't do water much, to my dismay, but watered down jello in a cup with a straw worked as did Sprite. I know they don't have electrolytes, but calories are important too. And have you tasted any of that Pedialyte - A#1 yuck!

Hope Em gets back to herself soon!

I'm so relieved to hear that Em is with you now. DS had pneumonia when he was 4 and it took a lot out of him. All he did was sleep for hours on end. I had to wake him up for medicine and fluids. I never thought that I would be glad to see him up and tearing my house apart! Extra prayers and pixie dust are winging your way from PA. I hope that EM is doing better soon.

I am so happy to read she is there with you now!!! I can see the relief in your writing, how comforting it is just to be able to see her yourself. I hope she feels better soon!!!

Yea !!! Em is home with you where she belongs.. I am glad you were able to go and get her.. and will have her with your for the next few weeks.. Take care .. Can I just ask a question off topic .
Her mom doesn't want her back for Christmas ? ( not that you shouldn't have her - but I don't let my kids go to their dad's till later in the day because I want to see them Christmas morning. )
