Elsa costume

Just received mine at home 30 minutes ago. :goodvibes

and I posted this side by side comparison on another thread but I'll do that here too if anyone was interested in seeing the Disney Store version compared to the Disney Parks version.

so in your opinion which one is nicer? can you tell if one is more comfortable than the other?

How do the JC Penney sizes run? My daughter is a size 7, so would that be a medium?

Nevermind- found the size chart :)

I got my JCP XS (4) Anna dress and it's long! I may need to figure out some creative ways to shorten it before June. :-) maybe a bustle of sorts. It's a very pretty dress.

I received shipping confirmation for the JCP Elsa dress in the Small size but haven't received it yet!

My real life Anna and Elsa will be on cloud 9 in these dresses.

For those of you that have the Disney store version of the Elsa dress, can you post your child's height and weight, and then what size of the dress fit them? Since I'm calling all over every day trying to find one, I'd at least like to be searching for the accurate size! My daughter is about 53" tall and weighs about 57lbs. Thanks!

Can anyone answer my dress size question above?

Also called Parks merchandising today. The very first recorded message when you call says that they aren't shipping ANY Frozen merchandise from the Parks. Since my Disney store has nearly nothing, and the online store has been stagnant all week, I guess we are not getting any. ..

I wish I could give you better info but my DD turned 5 in Feb and generally wears a size 4-5 in everything. She is almost 40 inches I think and around 40 pounds? She has both Anna and Elsa in a 5-6 and both are just a bit too big...too long (but not by much) and a little baggy in the chest area.

Ok I measured DD5 and she is 41.5 inches and 38.6 lbs. So the 5/6 is a bit big on her.

We received our shipment today! Elsa from Disney Store in a size 5/6. It is gorgeous! The pics didn't do it justice. My daughter is going to ecstatic. One thing I really liked is that the sequined bodice has an overlay, so that the sequins won't scratch her or snag the other fabrics. Also there doesn't appear to be anything scratchy at all inside the dress, which is a big deal to my daughter.

About sizing: I haven't tried it on her yet, but it looks like it will fit. She's 42 lbs and 42 inches. I ordered a 5/6. I think the 7/8 would have been pretty big.

We have a lot of the Disney store dresses, and we just got the Anna and Elsa dress today in a size 4….and they are pretty large compared to the other dresses. Almost a whole size larger. Unfortunately I think I now need to be on the lookout for a 2/3 for my youngest, where with the other dresses (Belle, etc) she is fine w/ a 4! :( Hope this helps...

Thank you all!! I'm still torn but I might go with the 10. Ugh! If I ever find it....

Size difference, the two outside ones are 7/8 & middle one is 5/6 & both from the Disney Store.

Posted this on another Elsa dress thread, but wanted to put it here as an update. There is another follow up post, which I will also try to copy here:

I finally caved and bought the Elsa dress from the Disney Store off eBay. I know, here comes the flaming...but I feel I am wasting way too much time chasing something that Disney is not able to deliver. We leave in just a few weeks, and I will have one Anna in her coronation dress and no Elsa! I have really tried, Disney, to buy this directly from you, and to not support scalping on eBay. I have called no less than 4-5 Disney stores every single morning for the last 2 months, to no avail (though I did score the Anna coronation dress this way from the Times Square Disney store last month, when they were still shipping dresses, which I hear they are no longer doing, even if they have them in stock). I go to my Disney store at least once a week for an in person beg, and I call them every day before they open as above. Nothing. I have called the Parks Merchandising line numerous times over the last months, either resulting in "we don't have any in any park" to the current "we won't ship any Frozen merchandise from the parks due to demand." I've inquired with a Disney Personal Shopper: no dresses in the larger sizes in the parks, and CMs tell her they have no way to know when more are coming. Waking up by alarm every morning at 2AM my time to check the website to see if they restock (didn't know about this until after the morning of the DVD release, when they did have the dress in stock online from 2-4AM). And that has been a resounding "no" on stock of the dress.

I feel I have more than exhausted all of the avenues to get this dress. I don't love the JCP dress, and I want a higher quality than the Target ones. Not that my JCP has had them at all either.

Since I don't have any confidence that Disney can, in the next two weeks, get this dress into a store where I can buy it, since they have basically only managed to get in on the website for a grand total of 2 hours in the last several months, I bought it on eBay. It is 4.5 months after the movie release, and Disney has managed 2 hours of online availability in the recent several months. I don't know who does their supply chain management, and I know that they don't want to overbuy and be stuck with merchandise, but I still believe this is unacceptable as a consumer. On the site currently, there are 7 articles of Frozen clothing. Five of those are only available in a size 2; the other two are only available up to size 4. Two others are there but are sold out in every size. I don't know how complicated it is to get some tshirts screen printed...

Ok I'll end my rant here. This is months of built up frustration and wasted time. I wish every one super pixie dust in finding their Elsa dresses!!!!!!

Answering my own question:

The Disney Store Elsa dress got here today from eBay! It is simply beyond gorgeous! I tried it on my daughter, and the 9/10 was a good fit with room to grow (she is almost 9 years old, about 53" tall and about 58-60 lbs). I think a 7/8 would have fit her, but would have been shorter than she wanted (mid-calf; this one is near ankles) and the sleeves might have been nearly too short. I think the 7/8 probably would have fit her better in the shoulders because she is tall and thinner, but overall I'm glad I went with the 9/10. Interestingly, for those of you wondering about the sizing like I was, the tag from the Disney store says it is a size "10" and fits "ages 8-9 years". Knowing that wording on the tag ahead of time would have reassured me a little better that the 9/10 would be the correct size for my child...hopefully this helps someone else out. I really appreciate that there is an over-layer of tulle on top of the sequined bodice to keep the sequins from ripping off or catching on everything. This is a beautiful dress! The ombre sleeves are a nice touch (from pictures, I think the JCP dress has white sleeves all the way down?).

My daughter put it on right away and is so excited to wear it in the Park!! Thanks for all of your support, fellow DISers , on this search!! I can now sleep at night, ha ha!!

I'm glad it's perfect! I have the JCP Anna and Elsa dresses and have them in a dress bag hanging in the closet.

I'm thinking about making them a surprise for when we get to Disney but I'm concerned about fit! I think I'll try and wing it. :-)

Wing it and make it a surprise!! So fun! I can tell you the fit of the Disney Store Anna adventure dress (lucked into when they actually just had them hanging in my local Disney store a few months back), but that may not help with the fit of the JCP dress. My younger daughter is about 49" tall and about 53lbs and it is a bit long in the sleeves and length on her. It is a 7/8. It fits my older daughter 53" tall and 58 lbs but the bodice is tight when trying to get the dress over her shoulders (not too tight once she gets the dress on).

Does anyone know if the JCPenney and Disney store versions fit the same?

My daughter is 7 years old, 50" and 48 lbs. The Penneys 7/8 is huge on her, but I am afraid the 5/6 will be too short. We are getting it altered, but also still on the lookout for a Disney store dress. I am just wondering if they fit about the same.

Thanks! :flower3:

Also- any new rumors as to WHEN they will be restocked online???
