ellen show, how long does the whole show taping take?

Has anyone gone to the Ellen Show taping at Universal? If so, how long is the whole process? I went in Burbank, and we had to be there by noon, and didn't get out of there until 5:30! The taping was at 3:00. Just wondering if she comes next March, if this would be a whole day thing.
