Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

This was the first time I turned on my TV in my office and all HECK broke loose!

Elizabeth needs to grow up if she wants to fight the big dogs. I wish they would hire someone with a view point that can express it intelligently. I grew up sort of like the Joys and Rosies of the world in NY and I would eat EH's for lunch... she doesn't demand respect and no matter WHAT you say if your opponent does not respect you.. you're TOAST.

ah, but see, in every other place in the world EXCEPT NY (and northern parts of NJ) Decorum and acting ladylike demands more respect than being obnoxious, loud and rude.

I actually find Rosie to be obnoxious and rude, but there's also nothing "ladylike" about being inarticulate and easily cowed.

All the true ladies I know have thoughtful opinions that they can clearly and eloquently express and they sure aren't afraid to do so.

I thought this was a talk show, not a political talk show, why does everyone who DOESN'T share Rosie's opinion have to be an opponent?

It was a debate of sorts.. the show IS called the View.

I consider a conversation or a thread like this a "debate" and YES, the ones with the alternate views are your "opponent".

She was basically challenging Rosie, AS SHE SHOULD'VE, on her point. the problem was she couldn't compete. I enjoy a good debate, if you have opposing views come on with it! But don't come like a yapping puppie up against a PITbull!

What Rosie needs is a true "opponent". Someone brought up an excellent point that the show wouldn't have it... after all they know Rosie brings in the ratings. A shame, I would love to see them go at it!

Exactly. I didn't see it, and I don't dislike either one of them, but I'm not getting how this is being thrown on Elizabeth. I don't see why it's up to Elizabeth to defend Rosie. I think THAT would be condescending. Rosie is perfectly capable of defending herself.

Rosie just wanted to know if HER FRIEND felt the same way as the media portrayed her, she didn't want to be defended. She thought it would be interesting to hear if Elisabeth felt the same way.

If I had a friend with different political views, there would be no way I would let others talk trash about them.

That's what I got out of it as well. I guess if someone were my friend I'd expect them to at least be able to defend me somewhat, even if they don't agree with me. It was obvious (to me) that Rosie doesn't think our troops are terrorists and it was obvious to Elisabeth as well if she was in such a hurry to 'let Rosie defend herself' but why couldn't Elisabeth just say so?

Off topic for a moment, I was more surprised that Sherri Shepard got back with her husband. After ALL that trash talking she did about her cheating hubby and how she hated him and he knocked up some other girl...weird.

I just watched on TMZ and rosie is tough is always is but on more than one occassion she says I am not doing this with you elisabeth and eliasbeth is the one who keeps it going
and that trump thing was low even the audience gasped.

She got back together with him and showed a pic of her kid with the kid he fathered with the other woman. They are brothers, yes, but all those times she was on and said how much she hated him...I'm not judging, I hope I'm never in her shoes. Just shocked.

I've seen a lot of people criticize EH for not being able to stand up to Rosie. So today she stands up to her and she's criticized for that?

If anyone thinks EH and RO are really friends, I have a bridge...

PPs mentioned a Latino woman who was up for EH's chair back when Lisa Ling left. I just wanted to throw in some info about her - her name is Rachel Campos Duffy. She was on one of the early seasons of "Real World" (San Fransisco - the same season that featured Pedro Zamora, an AIDS activist who died shortly after the show aired.)

Rachel is married to another Real World cast member and they live in Wisconsin - I think he's a DA up there.

Actually, Rachel tried out for the View after Debbie Matenopolous left too, and the chose Lisa over her at that time as well. I thought she was very articulate and not over the top - guess someone at ABC must really not want her there!

OK, big time Rosie fan and supporter here. And I'm going to have to say I'm siding with Elizabeth on this one. Rosie asked the question and then wouldn't let her answer. And Elizabeth even said a few seconds later, "No I don't believe you think the troops are terrorists". So she did answer the question. I have to say it was quite an interesting segment with the two of them yelling and Joy wondering where the commercial was. Who would cut to commercial in the middle of that?

OMG Yes!! I thought that was so bizzarre. And she was all high-school-giddy about it too. I'm glad that there are no harsh feelings against that other child, but I thought that was just strange.
