Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

I thought the question was Rosie: "Do you believe that I actually believe the troops are terrorists?"

It was. I think Rosie was waiting for her friend (Elisabeth) to say that she knows Rosie doesn't think our troops are terrorists.

I cannot stand Elisabeth!

Granted, I am a liberal democrat so I tend to lean towards Rosie's view more often (not always so exteme though), but Elisabeth is such a Republican poster child.

Can she EVER see anything wrong with Bush??

Maybe I could support her more if she could ever get out a thought with stumbling through it. She needs to take a debate class or two and learn how to state an opinion without getting flustered.

And someone please shut Barbara Walters up. She is another one who cannot complete a sentence without rambling.

I am not sure she has an original thought - just towing the line.....the one thing I can say about Rosie is she is not afraid to have or voice an original thought...though I sometimes do not agree with the extrmes she goes to and almost never like how she does it.

I thought the question was Rosie: "Do you believe that I actually believe the troops are terrorists?"

Well that totally changes it, talk about taking things out of context.

I saw that show too where Rosie made the statement that x number of Iraqi citizens killed versus x number of American soldiers (huge difference in the number... nearly a million Iraqi's I believe). Then Rosie looks into the camera and asks "Who exactly are the terrorists?"

What does that say to you. Sounds to me like she is calling the troops terrorists. Not Bush or the admin but the troops.

I thought the question was Rosie: "Do you believe that I actually believe the troops are terrorists?"

Again a simple answer "No. I do not think you believe the troops are terrorist. I think you believe that we as a country should not support the deaths of 655,000 possibly innocen Iraqi people."

On a side note - whatever happened to "caution on the side of life" that Bush use to say? 655,000 people - I can't even fathom.

I don't think Rosie initial comment was taken out of context at all. She said that 655,000 civilians have been killed in Iraq and then looked at Elisabeth and said who are the terrorists now?
Rosie has always supported the troops. I believe she meant the US govt are the ones acting like terrorists to the Iraqi people.
Can she EVER see anything wrong with Bush??
I think she can, but I think she won't admit it. A few weeks ago Rosie asked her if she trusted the Bush Administration today just as much as she did when he first started and she couldn't answer the question. She doesn't want to say anything bad about him even if she doesn't agree with it.

Did anyone see last week when Elizabeth was talking about being at the playground close to dark and there were some teenagers there making out. She just *knew* that if they left the teens would have sex so she wouldn't leave because she wanted to "save" them. :lmao:

gonna play devil's advocate: if Rosie truly feels the administration is responsible for the troops being there, yadayyada.... (and I believe she does)- then she meant the administration that sent them there is the first place , not the troops!!!

Even if she didn't mean it that way she certainly left it open to that interpretation. I think it's ridiculous that she's playing victim now.

But it's not a simple answer if that's not what she believes. Do you think Elizabeth would say to Rosie that Elizabeth think Rosie thinks the troops are terroists? I haven't seen the show yet today, so I can't really comment.

I don't agree with the way she delivered her statement because it does imply that the troops are terrorist. Which I 100% do not believe. I also don't think Bush is a terrorist, but I think he didn't use good judgement in taking the war to Iraq.

i thought elisabeth was being stupid
she says rosie her friend and doesnt think she meant our troops were terroists but didnt say that yesterday or defend her
then she brought up the donald and that was a low blow

Playing "devils advocate", it's really easy for us to talk about this and analyze all of this sitting in our comfy homes watching tv and playing on the computer. But I wonder how the Iraqi people feel about this? It's their homes and lives that are being destroyed. I wonder how many of them actually do consider the troops and our government to be terrorists? :confused3

I've read and heard on the news more than once that the Iraqi death toll is more like 65,000 and not 655,000. :confused3

I know of one study on cnn.com that states the 655,000 but that it's been disputed and debunked.

I think that's exactly what Rosie meant, the problem is she wasn't as articulate as you were in your above post.

Yes, the question to Elizabeth was along the lines of "Do you think that I believe our troops are terroists?" (I have it TIVO'd, if you have any questions about it. :)) And all Elizabeth was trying to do was to clarify to Rosie that ROSIE should take the opportunity to clarify what she meant. And then Rosie gets all upset that Elizabeth is treating her like a 6 year old, because she (Rosie) doesn't need anyone to tell her that.

About Rosie's original comment:

Exactly.

And what a total idiot Joy is...she barks her *** off on the show, and then she's there in the background shrieking "Can't we just have a converstion?"

The show didn't start out 10 years ago as a political show...it's a show about the views of different generations of women, and these are the women now representing that. Not saying that any one of them represents all women of each age group, of course. If you want people on the show who can better represent each political side, it sounds to me like a totally different show...a point/counter-point type of political show.

I find it very difficult to listen to the opinions of anyone who barks it at me. They all start to sound like the adults in a Charlie Brown TV show.

I think about this every day. How would we feel if some other country came in and killed over 600,000 (or for that matter, 65,000) of us? How would that impact our lives? Our childrens? Do you think we'd be planning Disney trips or just trying to get to and from the market with milk for our kids?

Rosie has always supported the troops.

I can't stand EH, never could. I don't understand why she just counldn't say yes or no, and then when she brought up the Donald trump, well that was just childish.
I also noticed when Alishia come on the stage, she went right past EH, but huged everyone else, like she did it on purpose.:confused3
