Ok, maybe not an emergency, but certainly a concern! :rotfl2:

I cheaped out and didn't buy my girls the Magic Elf off of their website because I thought almost 40 bucks was wayyyy to expensive for a stuffed animal. Now I am stuck trying to find an elf to have "delivered" Thanksgiving night. I have seen the Elf on a Shelf and he creeps me out. I was going to make up my own little poem and but some clear glitter for the girls to sprinkle on the elf, but I can't find an elf!!!

I have looked at Barnes and Noble, Walmart and Hobby Lobby but no luck. Anyone have some ideas on where I could get a cute elf or 2 at a decent price?

Thanks a million guys. I don't know what I would do without my dis peoples!!!

I just posted this on the other thread, but I had the same problem! I am too cheap to get the $25 elf w/the book. It's harder than I thought to find an elf!!

So at Walmart today (my 3rd stop looking for an elf) I picked up a "Christmas Sock Monkey", :rotfl:. He's wearing Christmas colors so we'll just have to go with that.

I'll just tweak my letter a little to use the words "sock monkey" a few times.....maybe I'll even say he's an elf disguised as a sock monkey.....DS's are 9 & 6 so they aren't going to believe an elf is watching them anyways (I think!!:confused3) so it's all in fun.

We have the one the PP showed on Amazon but we bought it from a seller on Ebay. He really is adorable :goodvibes If you need him this week Amazon might be a good bet since you can have it delivered by then.

Go to EBay, search "Fiesta girl elf" (or boy) this is the one that we have. Super cute and cheap.

Hurry! What are you waiting for???

You may want to try a Hallmark or specialty gift shop in your area. I found ours at a place called Morgan House here in a Columbus Ohio suburb. They were much more festive and had a unique hand made quality than the really creepy looking one.

Both of our friends were found at Home Goods last year for $5. They are adorable, I have a boy and a girl. Actually, I probably should look to see if I can find others for replacements once ours are beyond repair.

I've also seen cute friends at our thrift store too. I, too, am much too cheap to buy the magic elf. But I also wanted my kids to have unique friends and not one like all of the other kids on the street. ;)

Go to Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Ross and buy an Annalee elf. I was just at the stores today here in FL and there are quite a few. They aren't expensive and IMHO WAY cuter than the others. I think I paid a whopping $6 for ours years ago... They're great for posing all over the house too. Ours is named Tinsel and she came with a letter from Santa the first morning introducing her. Have fun! :)

I bought ours at Hallmark last year for less than $15, I think. I saw elves at TJMaxx for less but I thought the Hallmark ones were cuter.

Does the elf have to come on Thanksgiving?
Ours does not arrive til St. Nicholas Day. December 6.

But then our kids have always gotten their shoes filled on this day, so it is a natural choice for us. (Besides that elf wears me out, don't want it here a whole month) LOL!!!!

Guess I am getting old!

I know some people don't like the faces on the Annalee elves, but I think they're actually quite cute, and I love how you can pose them in all kinds of crazy positions - and they stay!

I wouldn't pay full price for one, but at any of the off price retailers listed above, they're usually a great deal.

Good Luck with your search OP. You have to come back and let us know what you ended up getting.

DD loves our Annalee elf from TJMaxx HomeGoods. They still had some at my store the other day for $12.99. He is bendale so you can do some pretty cool things with him!

Thanks to another poster here, I found ours at Target for $3.99. He's cute! I found him in the Christmas stuff, they have an area by all the candy that has stocking stuffers. There were other stuffed things in the bin with the elves - santas, reindeer (I believe).

I just order the Fiesta boy elf and I really love him....so much better than the elf on the shelf.....I ordered him from amazon and got free 2 day shipping with the amazon mom trial.......maybe you can try that and have him here for Friday.....good luck!!!

This is what I was going to suggest. He is sooooooo much cuter than the Elf on the Shelf that we have. I got one to send to my sister to use with her little boy. :goodvibes

My mom found a great one at Michaels. I will have to take a picture and post it when the kids take a nap.
