Been reading some reviews from people that have said that the rooms close to the elevators were very noisy....Has anyone else experenced this?

Sorry, never had one of those rooms. Very little room noise from our experiences. Does any resort room directly next to an elevator throughout WDW have some elevator noise? Is there a reason this is specific to BCV?

We had a studio on the 5th floor directly behind the elevator (I think it was 563). The hallway was between our room, and the elevator, and the noise really bothered me at bedtime. I was surprised it was that loud in our room. I think if we stay at BCV again, I'll request a room not so close to the elevators.

The second elevator at the BCV's creates a TON of noise....

Any room ending with 60, or 66 will be filled with noise, be it, 160, 166.....260, 266.....360, 366....460, 466.....560, 566....I believe...

We have stayed in 460 and 566 and 460 had annoying noise but 566 was downright horrible for elevator noise. Now, come about midnight or 1 am the noise does tend to end but it starts right back up around 6 am or so...We had to go out and buy a fan and leave it on high all night long to drown out the constant swooshing of the elevator.

I am assuming that all of the rooms ending in these numbers have the same problem.

460 is a studio lockout
566 is a dedicated studio

we stayed in 560 and the elevator noise was annoying from 6am on.....it stopped around 11pm....it was noticeable...kind of sounds like water running...it did not interrupt my sleep much...just a small nuisance

1) Agreed.
2) We were nearby, and it was only an annoyance.
3) I guess you just can't have a silent elevator.
. . . the up-and-down "swish" could be heard a little
. . . the doors opening-and-closing was actually louder
. . . worse, was the (infrequent) loud talking by people

I find that any room at any hotel that is near a elevator is going to be noisy.::yes::

Of course your other option is to be at the end of the hall and complain how about how far you are from the elevators.

We stayed in studio #566 and heard the start and stop of the "motor" anytime the elevator was in use. We really didn't have trouble with people being loud getting on and off, nor were we aware of the doors opening and closing. it was the sound of the motor. We became very aware of just how often, day and night, that elevator is in use!!

By the way, this IS at the very end of the hall. This elevator isn't the main one; it's the one that comes out by the quiet pool, parking lot, and near the bus stop.

Apart from the elevator noise, we LOVED the room! It's configured a little differently, and actually has 2 closets even though it's a studio. It also has an extra large balcony. If offered that room again though, I think I'd probably be inclined to turn it down if something else was available. Hearing the elevator day and night wouldn't be my first choice, I guess, though I also wouldn't consider it a big deal. :D

We stayed in 566 also, but we moved after the first night. The "whoosh...bang!" noise kept us awake all night. I don't know if we are just light sleepers or what, but the elevator seemed really loud to us. Too bad, because that room does have a great balcony::yes::

I love the fan idea! If we get one of those rooms... I will go insane, but a fan would take care of it!

Huge whitenoise fan here!
