Elephant Paper Piecing? (updated with a pic)

I have never seen one. To be honest, paper piecing scares me, just a bit. But I know that Jolee's by You sells one. It is cute and not too huge. I used to have one, but I don't anymore, or else I'd tell you how big. I do have a giraffe, but that isn't helpful at all. :rotfl2:

Hehe, I promised OH I wouldn't buy any scrapping stuff over summer (having a binge in orlando next month!) I may have a go at making one myself. I made a cow a while back, it can't be that dissimilar can it?!

Thanks for the link, one of the elephants was perfect, I just spent 15 minutes making him up. Will post up a pic later as my cyber crop is kicking off now!

OMG!! You made that elephant from that page I posted??? That's incredible! I looked at it & wasn't sure how it would turn out...but it's incredible! Obviously, I don't have the creativity needed for this! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That page is AWESOME! You did a great job. I love the silk leaves! They add just the right amount of tropical feel without being too much. :cheer2:

I sized the image down to how big I wanted him on the computer, then printed him three times, twice on grey card and once on white paper. I cut out all of him except the tail on the first piece of grey, then just his head on the 2nd which I stuck above the first head with foam. Then I cut out just the tusks from the paper and glued them on top of the tusks on the 2nd head. Finally I tied a knot on in a piece of black wool and glued that under the original to make his tail. Only took about 10 minutes.

Queenie, that looks AMAZING!!!!! If your elephant ever has "baby elephant paper piecings", see if one of them wants to make a trip to Tennessee!!!

Terrific job!!! :thumbsup2

I love it!!! Thanks for the explanation too - that makes it sound much easier than I had pictured paper piecings in my mind. I'll have to try it!

Nice job Queenie!! I also looked at some of your other layouts and saw some pieces I made from the Epcot swap. :goodvibes I made the Mexico photo mats and little UK file folder, it is so nice to actually see someone use something you made on their pages. :teeth: Great work!!
