I've heard people rave about elephant ears. Does anyone know of a place to get them at WDW? Exactly what are they? Are they really as good as I've heard?

What is an elephant ear?

in the day when we went to the state fair every year, elephant ears were large circles of fried dough that bathed in butter sprinkled with a sugar and cinnamon mix.

Boulangerie Patiiserie lists elephant ears

I love the elephant ears at Boulangerie Patiiserie in France. Theirs are a puff pastry that is covered with a syrupy (is that a word?) glaze. They are simple, but delicious!!! :goodvibes

I am not sure what its called but the little place next to the castle at the corner of frontierland has them. we have them at the fair adn they are yum.

The one's at the stand by the Castle are funnel cakes, which too are very yummy! And both are totally fair foods.

Another vote for la Boulangerie Patiserie (sp)

I tried to get an elephant ear, which is listed on the menu, at Boulangerie Patisseries in France during an Easter trip this year. I was told they no longer have them???? I also tried to get an elephant ear last July and was told the same thing. I wonder if that is actually the case or they were sold out for the day, the young girl was hard to understand that waited on me in April. I love elephant ears...yummy!!!

:scared1: I hope they were just out!!! I love those things!!!

I don't like them, but in case anyone was wondering they are also called palmiers.

They were also called "Beaver Tails" in Canada; but sadly those are gone.:confused3 And yes, I think that the pastry shop in France also calls them "Palmiers" which may be why the girl was confused.
