electrical outlets

I've seen a lot of tips about bring extension cords to expand the # of outlets.... but are the electrical outlets in the cabins grounded? (are they 2 or 3 prong?)

3 prong. I bought a couple of cords and the 2 prong adapter for the cord
We had rechargable batteries, portable DVD players game boy chargers--the plug came in handy. pluged everything in and left them on the desk in the room

Great. I'm going as a cast member so I have lots I want to plug in. I had planned to bring a power bar but then figured I better make sure it was a 3 prong outlet.

The only normal outlets are by the mirror & vanity..if you need to plug in something near the beds you'll have to bring an extension cord or use one of their adapters ( the ships were made in Italy & they use 220v..found that out on my first cruise with our disabled friend, he uses a lot of electricity!!) If I remember correctly, the outlets in the bathrooms are two pronged. And, the two prongs are the same size. Unlike most appliances that have an electrical cord with their plugs have one small prong and one slightly larger prong. The outlets in the rest of the room were normal three prong outlets.

The outlet in the built in hairdryer in the bathroom is clearly labelled shaver only. Plug anything more powerful in there and you risk poping the safety breaker.

As for the other outlets they are 3 prong, but, the way the plug is mounted close to the top of the desk, you need some kind of extension cord if the plug is any bulkier then the kind found on the end of a lamp cord. Typically a lot of hair dryers/curling irons have a big short circuit safety plug that will not plug in there.
