electric golf cart at Ft. Wilderness?

Anyone ever rented one of these? How far in advance did you book? Was it worth the money? Where do you park if you are going to a show or petting zoo? Thanks for any response.

We stayed in the cabins this past April/May...I believe I booked at least one month out. I'd suggest booking vice just showing up and hoping to rent one...there were a few people complaining at the rental desk that they weren't aware they could pre-book golf carts and "why can't I just have one of the ones parked right over there." Well, those just happened to be ones that were reserved! It was definitely worth the money to us as we had fun going around and checking the whole place out at our leisure. There are lots of places to park the cart near the petting zoo/Trail's End Buffeteria/Hoop Dee Doo show/pools, etc. Any other questions let me know.

We stayed at the FW cabins 2 years ago with our 2 preschool aged boys. The golf cart was great. Things are very far apart there. We rented our golf cart from an off-site company. I can't remember the name of it, but if you hop over to the camping board and search I'm sure you can find it. We saved some money over the Disney rental rates. The only difference that I could see was that our cart didn't have a windshield and the Disney ones did. This wouldn't be a problem unless it rained! Have a great time!

I would say definitely yes to the golf cart and also to reserving one ahead of time. They had daily and weekly rates.

I would also recommend a cart with a windshield even though they are a little bit more. We rented without and at nite froze our patooties off. The wind whistling thru the non-windshield was cold.
