I'm a little frustrated right now...
I have auto-billing and e-statements for my electric bill. Well, when I tried to sign on (using my e-mail address and password), it says my password is incorrect. I followed the steps to reset my password which included them sending a reset code to my e-mail address. I got the message saying that my password was successfully reset. So, I go back to sign on...and I get a message that says my e-mail address is not on file
...ummmm....they JUST sent me an e-mail with my password reset code...WTH?
Of course, my next step is to call them...but since we just had a bunch of storms roll through the area, I get a recorded message that says they are only taking EMERGENCY calls right now.
I cannot even get my account number since I have not received a paper statement in over 3 years and I cannot log on to my account. DH checked the meter reading, but since I cannot access my statement, I have nothing to compare it to.
As promised, I will keep this updated, but I have no idea when I am going to be able to get a hold of the electric company. After I vented this all to my DH, he mentioned an incident about 2 years ago when we had a sudden rise in our electric bill. It went from about $110 to over $200 in one, non-summer month. IIRC, I went through the same rigamarole without ever being able to get in contact with the electric company. When the next month's bill came, it was only like $30 so there was an "adjustment". Since I really don't know when I am going to be able to wait on hold for 45-60 minutes, I might just have to wait and see what happens with next month's bill.
