With the Presidential Election coming up, i was wondering how many people really can be bothered to vote?

Here in Australia we have no choice but to voteIt is compulsory. But, if I had my way I would rather not "have" to vote.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS. My parents reminded me growing up of the days we could not vote and instilled in me that we should ALWAYS use this right since so many good people fought so we could have this right. I bring my son with me and show him that it matters and that he should always use this right. He's 11 and totally understands.

What happens if you don't or even can't vote (example -- in surgery or hospitalized)?
