Election Day in Canada

For those of you who don’t know, today is Election Day for our neighbors to the north.

Now, I’m not one to prattle on how other countries have it better than we do here in America – mostly because I believe we have it pretty good. But I must admit to liking this one aspect of the Canadian election process. The campaign started a month ago and they are voting today. Mercifully short and to the point.

Though I know it’s not possible, I would love to adopt something like that here in the states. I can’t believe we still have another 4 months to go before we cast our ballots. It already feels as if the campaign has lasted forever.

In any case, hope all you Canucks get out and vote today.

We've been out to the polls this afternoon and voted. My DS (24) gets angry with me as he doesn't want to vote but I told him that it's his duty as a Canadian citizen to vote. There are other countries where you don't have a say in the way in which your country is run, and for this privilege I'm thankful!

LOL Also I'm soooo glad we only had a months notice for this election as I get soooo sick of hearing and seeing all of the election hoopla! Tomorrow will be peaceful once again!

Yup, voted. My 18 yo got to vote for the first time. It was hard not to ask who she voted for but that is her business.

This is one of the more heated federal elections that we've had in a while.

From what I can glean from the net, it looks like a Liberal minority government.

Any Canadians want to comment on what this will mean.

The crooks are in power yet again....but they will have some others peering over their shoulders this time!

Maybe they'll have to be just a little more responsible from here on? Canadian's all complain about the Liberals but somehow 'somebody' keeps voting them in! Nobody ever confesses to it though

I didn't vote for them...so I get to say "I told you so" for the next 4 years!

I voted and my party won with a minority gvt. Not sure thats good or bad though I'm glad it was the liberals and not those annoying Conservatives.
