darkwing: haha yea, thats an epiphone.. i actually saw that at sam ash.. i like how its pirates themed haha.. but i wouldnt play that XD.. and great to hear that your smashmouth gig was cool! did you guys take pictures and stuff haha

I got some pictures on my phone of them warming up, and then a view from the crowd. The bassist was cool, he was playing some Tool and Van Halen riffs when he was warming up.

twinks: haha yea, van halen is sick.. i remember seeing this one video of his solos where he put a cigarette/blunt (couldnt tell haha) between the strings at the neck of his guitar, and it looked like he was playing soo good that the guitar was smoking up XD... and hells yea youll play like that someday! remember us little people when your on stage!!! haha


darkwing: wooow! thats a lot of symbols haha... that looked intense... it wasnt drumming, it was a workout! and sweet, im not too big of a fan of that cover, but that might be beacause i couldnt hear it too well... but disney covers are always fun to do!

I've been working on bits and pieces of songs. My best so far is Things I'll Never Say (I have an Avril Lavigne songbook). My instructor says I'm doing really well, though!

cool!! im working on crazy train its just fun to play something like that but thats good u have a teacher i had just more of a mentor that helped (my youth pastor) he was pretty good but he only did chords so im lacking in finger picking skillz i need to work on that thus crazy train but i want a teacher but there ex*****ve and i have no money

We actually did a guitar unit in 8th grade music class, so I learned the notes and basic playing. I just worked on cleaning it up and learned chords with my teacher.

Oh, that's too bad! My lessons are 1/2 hour each week ($17). Doesn't cost nearly as much as my dance classes!

yeah but money is hard to come bye for thirteen yr olds. so i just go along with takeing what ive learned and perfecting and building on that i slow process deffinatly but not one thats undoable but seventen isent really that bad but a half hour isent really that much

My boyfriend made the mistake of telling me that the guitar outside the building for rock 'n' rollercoaster was modeled after the fender strat. So, of course, I must love it. xD

Did anyone here watch the The Rock Honors: The Who last night? I thought it was amazing. I am a really big Who fan and whenever I hear there music I just get chills. And I thought the bands that were playing cover songs of The Who were really good too. I DVR'ed it so I will always have it.lol

I also DVR'ed it but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. The only thing I saw was Baba O'Riley which was pretty cool, it's probably my favorite song by them.

Amanda: dont worry! chord transitions are the hardest part of guitar imo.. it took me months just to get it down... i think its A LOT easier to learn if your playing an actual song you like.. instead of just doing random individual chords, over and over again

It is to honor any really good bands and this time it was The Who. They had Pearl Jam, Incubus, Tenacious D, and The Flaming Lips do cover of some of their best songs. At the end The Who actually came on and played a couple of songs their songs. They had some cool clips of when they were a much newer band and showed all the original members. It was on VH1
