Hey guys,

As many of you may or may not know, Im currently teaching myself how to play the guitar... Im a noob and have no formal training at all haha, so you can expect me to suck pretty badly... anyway, i thought that since i have no one to show me how to play the "correct" way, id get help through a different method: YOU GUYS!! .... sooo i will be posting my videos in this thread, and i hope that you guys give some criticism.. dont be afraid to criticize


EDIT: This thread has evolved in an awesome way haha... ill be posting up every member of the TB's videos so you guys can tell us what you think.. so EVERYONE definitely let us know your opinions! you dont have to be a guitarist to have an opinion on music

For this one, i really just wanted to try to put a song together.. merging some rhythm with some lead... and as youll see, my lead skills are terrible compared to my rhythm .. my timing seems to be off but i cant figure out what i could do to fix that -_- .. but it was a fun song to play

power monkey ive been playing for about six months and that sounds preaty good the only thing is u looked kinda jerky just a little bit on your strumming hand just try going upand down while changing chords thats whi did and it helped me hope this helped

so are u missing strings when u do that or is it just when u do u get confused cause if it is the first one u might need to tilit the bottom of the giutar out away from u that way u catch all the strings easier if its the other one your right it just takes practice keep at it

haha i just get confused... oh! and another thing im having trouble with.. for certain chords, you only hit 3 strings (usually the 3 low ones) ... but a lot of times, i accidently strike an extra string... is there a way to not do this?

yeah im still haveing a little bit of truoble with thatbut if u just play it really slow for awhile it will just become natural but this is one of the things that is very boring and took me a little over a month to be compleatly comftrable with

nice nice.. yea, i started out with electric too.. but then i realized that i couldnt play acoustic when i switched.. me hands were too weak lol... so i went acoustic mainly to build up finger strength.. what guitar do you have?

yea when ever i play acoustic i used to have that problem but i have the calussus buit up that i can play one with only minor pain and i have this is very embaerasing but i have a stupid little first act its full size but i have had it for like four years i sooo want a new one

thats about a year old. i got a new camera that doesnt have crappy sound quality recently, so ill get a new video up.

*bump* i like this thread soo i just thought of something to say does anyone play giutar in front of like a group cause i play with my worship group on sundays its just about 25 people or so but its still a crowd anyone else play in front of acrowd or with a band?
