Had a nice experience today. Our guide on our Kensington tour thru Egypt is this amazing woman named Hala. She is fantastic and we are lucky to have her on all of our Cairo days here. She was telling us about the tourism in Egypt and how bad it has been. She has been working 25 years, usually gives 25 tours a month. Since Covid been averaging 1-2!
She loves Disney and auditioned to be a Disney ABD guide and was hired to start April 2020! Then stupid Covid. She still gets calls from Disney saying that want to start back up but she is now with Kensington so if anyone wants to go to Egypt request her if you can and you will get a very Disney experience
She said bookings have started to increase as Americans start to feel more comfortable to travel and realize Egypt is safe and apparently UK just removed Egypt from the red list which I don’t know too much what that means but apparently they can start traveling here now without having to quarantine when they return home. That is her bread and butter - UK and USA tourists. She has 15 tours set up for October already which is very promising.
Anyway, just thought it was nice we have an ABD guide as this trip was originally a ABD but then we switched to Kensington when Disney canceled. Egypt is very safe and open for tourists
If you feel comfortable please come and support the hospitality industry here, they do not get much support and need us to return to traveling!
