*eek!!* I qualified for Millionaire!! How'd you do?

After trying all week, I FINALLY qualified last night, and I'm absolutely SO excited to be in the running!! Sure, they only randomly pick ten people per tape day, and, sure, there's probably thousands (if not millions!) of other names in the running, but WHOO HOO!!

I know other people have been calling - is anyone else keeping their fingers crossed until next week's "callbacks"?? A little DIS pixie dust won't hurt either!!


How sweet it would be to hear Regis say those words: "You've just won *insert OBSCENE amount of money here* - what are you planning to do now?!"

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!

So come on...roll call of all the other would-be "Millionaires"

I remember getting through twice , qualifying twice for the phone format, and waiting and waiting for the producers to call twice... and nothing!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! I just logged on to post that I qualified, too, and to ask for pixie dust and all that jazz, and I see you beat me to it!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

This is only my 2nd try... I got booted on the 2nd question a couple of nights ago. I can't believe I got the 2 geography questions right! I SUCK at geography!!!

My call-back time is 9-12 tomorrow morning, and I would tape on MONDAY!!! I already told my mom there's no way I'm getting picked, because I just don't have anything to wear!

WELL... I am carrying my cell phone into the exam rooms with me tomorrow morning. I don't care how rude it is!!!

Any idea how many people they're selecting from? I picked the 23rd as my tape date because I know they've given people the 25th and 26th as options since the beginning, so I was hoping that fewer people would be in the running for the 23rd. I think if they call me tomorrow a.m., I'm going to have to high-tail it out of work a.s.a.p. to get ready to go in time.

Ahh... so much for not getting my hopes up!

When is your callback supposed to be, and what tape date did you choose?

I didn't realize they had offered people the 25th and 26th from the beginning - that would've been a smart strategy had I thought about it, lol. I chose the 25th - completely randomly, to be honest. I thought the 22nd was way to close for me to process the possibility, and (stupid thought) I wasn't sure the mandatory extra night's stay for the 23rd would work out well for me (although I'll gladly do it if asked for the 25th!!). I think I was just so flustered to have actually got questions correct that I closed my eyes and picked a number.



I feel the same way you do about carrying the cell phone around - I'll definitely have it with me all morning on Monday!! That's my call back, by the way: 9 - 12 on Monday morning. I hardly expect to be called, but it would be such a fluke, and, yes, I'd have nothing to wear. As my sister always warns me, though - don't anticipate. I keep repeating it. Yikes.

The sad part is, I think I'd be so nervous that I'd screw up on a stupid question - or, more probable still, I wouldn't qualify for fastest finger. SUCH PRESSURE TO THINK ABOUT!! lol


Anyway, we won't get our hopes TOO high so as not to jinx it, but GOOD LUCK tomorrow, and make sure you check in and let us know what's up!!

My cousin qualified for the show back when it first came out and got called back to be one of the contestants. He never made it out of the fastest finger round but it was cool to see him on tv.

I'm really not expecting anything. I was super-excited for like an hour; it's worn off. It's just cool to think of the possibility.

KingKobra -- that is too cool! My sister had qualified a few times in the past and never gotten called back. Yes, our chances are SLIM, I'm sure.

Do they even do the fastest finger any more? If they do, they don't show it on the show. I figured that if they had time on your tape date, you'd get to play. But then, I guess it will be different for Super Millionaire, huh? Man, I'd never win the fastest finger. I'm no good at that. I never do well on that at MGM, but then I always do well when it comes to the questions. However, I've never made it to the hot seat!!! I guess we can't rely on Disney questions, either, huh?

That's still really cool, KingKobra! A priest from one of our town churches made it during that first season also (our entire community watched!), but he too didn't make it past fastest finger. Trips up the best of us, I guess - and I would've thought he of all people might have had divine intervention!!

No matter, though - perhaps we'll make it there with DISine intervention!! A little pixie dust never hurt anyone!!

Doc - I never do well at MGM either on the fastest finger. I've made it onto the leader board a couple of times through the questions, but never at the top spot. Seriously though - if they made it Disneyfied, there would be no stopping me!!

As far as everything I've heard, they're still doing the fastest finger for Super Millionaire, plus they have two new lifelines - something called "Three Wise Men" (which is like a panel of experts, I think?) and "Double Dipping" (or something like that, which will give a chance to reanswer a question if you get it wrong). My sister said the new ones are only available after you hit ten questions or something though.

Doc, if you made it and stayed through, and I somehow made it too, can you imagine the chaos if you won a huge prize on my tape day??

Oh no! I hate the fastest finger! I would be shaking so bad, there's no way I would get it correct, much less QUICKLY.

I used to hate the fastest finger thing at MGM, but the last two times I've made it into the hotseat have been on the FF round. If I can do it, so can you two. Have confidence in yourselves !!

DH made it to the show in 1999. He also didn't get into the hot seat. The fast finger thingie was set up differently on the screens for the contestants than it is set up on the tv screen so he kept getting confused. It was a great experience though! We had a lot of fun.

DH did win a car and other prizes on a game show right before I met him. He was on Remote Control on MTV (anyone remember that one??LOL) and had one of the fastest final rounds ever on the show.

My DH has qualifed for Millionaire too! He has to be home Monday from 9-12 to see if he gets a call to show up on
Wednesday. I can't get past the second question. Younger DS got on Millionaire at MGM last summer and got up to the $16,000 question which is good for a 13 year old. Good luck to everyone!
