We started thinking about it last summer, started making tentative plans at the beginning of this year, and in the last week we've booked it!

So its me and my DD, and my Dniece, flying out from Manchester on 20th August, back on 3rd September, first 5 nights at All-stars Sports, then 8 nights at Avanti on International Drive. I'm not booking loads of ADRs, but I have booked Be Our Guest for lunch on our first day in the Magic Kingdom, and Beaches & Cream later in the week. I want Wishes dessert party too, but its too early to book that at the moment.

The plan is to hit Disney hard in our first 5 full days, then have a bit of a break, then Universal for a couple of days, then that gives us 4 days at the end of our trip to do our favourites/shop/maybe airboat ride.

Eeeeep I'm so excited!

How exciting, we are off for our first visit this summer too. Happy planning :goodvibes

How exciting :yay: Like you we have BoG booked for MK on our first day, and Beaches and Cream later in the holiday to try the kitchen sink!

Lovely Elaine. We are getting excited now too - our first trip as well :flower1:.

We are staying at Universal for a few nights as well - really looking forward to the Harry Potter World!

How exciting - I think planning the trip is actually on a par with experiencing it, just love the planning bits! We will be arriving about 4 days after you and I just can't wait.

thanks again all,

I wasn't keen to plan much more for WDW than I do for DLP (ie book a flight, book a hotel, get some park tickets, go!). But I've realised I'm not going to get anything done at WDW if I go with that attitude!

Sounds like you will have a great time Elaine.

Be Our Guest lunch was one of our favourite meals of the last trip.

We have 3 bookings for this July :)

Are you hiring a car?

Great news Elaine, how exciting. I will get round to booking Orlando eventually

no its just me and my teenagers Reid, we're going to use Magical Express from the airport, onsite transport while we are staying at Disney, then the free park shuttles/lynx buses while we are staying at the Avanti, along with the occasional taxi as the need arises. There will be mall shopping involved - no way around that with 2 teenage girls!

thanks again all,

It might not be the most fun thing now but it will definitely be worth it! I really feel for all the people that do exactly that, just book everything and go because I bet it's an absolute nightmare when you get there. That's why I'm so glad I joined this forum before we took our first trip otherwise I hate to imagine what might have happened!
