EE vs Kilimanjaro Safaris

We go June 5 to AK. I really want to see the Safari when the animals are out and about, so I know it has to be early. Kids of course, want to do EE at least once. If we do the safari first and then head to EE will we miss out on being able to do EE in the morn and do you think fast passes will be gone? We only plan on doing a mid afternoon day and I would like to do the Kali Rapids last as I know we will get wet. I also hate to start out the day sending a runner to EE and have the poor soul rush over to the Safari. Any suggestions?

Don't you usually pass by Asia(EE) to get to Africa(Safari). You could get fastpasses on the way. We were one of the first in line for the Safari in Sept. The trucks weren't up and running yet. We waited about 20 mins til they were in full swing. I think I'd rather get Fastpasses for that and ride to your hearts content on EE. For Kali we waited 45 mins about 90 mins prior to closing. After we got off there was no longer a line. You could jump right back on. DD12 got soaked. She always picks the "wet seat" I try not sitting next to her.

I'm not sure how big (walking distance wise) the park is. How long does it take to walk from say EE to the Safari. We are going to have my mom with us and she is not much of a sprinter!

Just send one person will all the tickets over to EE to get the FAST PASSES. Than that person can meet the group in Africa for the Safari.

I think the Fast passes for EE are going to be like Soarin. If you don't get them early you won't get them at all.

Last weekend when we walked by (they had a soft opening on Sunday) all the passes were gone at 1:30.

If you arrive at the park at before opening and enter as they allow guests in the park, head over to the right at the Tree Of Life towards Asia, pick up you Fast Passes for Everest and then walk between Asia and Africa to the Safari. You should be able to make it back to Everest within a 10 minute walk (assuming you don't walk too slowly) and then the walk over to the Safari from EE is only about 10 minutes as well. All that being said, you should be able to get your fast pass and be in line for Safari within about 25 to 30 minutes. You should have a minimal wait for the Safari and the animals should still be active.

Enjoy Everest! It is a great coaster. We rode it about 10 times during the preview about 2 weeks ago.

FYI, on Dec. 21, the wait without a Fast Pass for Soarin' was 200 minutes. I bet it will be like that for EE.

I am a total newbie to WDW, and the fast pass system, so please bear with me. We plan on a visit to AK in August. Goal will be to open the park--rope drop as you say on here.

I am also interested in how to do the EE, Safari scramble. Getting a FP for EE and heading to the Safari makes good sense to me. But, what if I am on Safari when my FP time comes up? Will it be feasible to get a FP for Kali when we go to EE (they seem close together) Other than these three attractions, what else can we anticipate lines for? Should we plan on other FP's?

We are going first week of April and touringplans nor mike have an AK plan that involves EE, so we plan to do the following:

Arrive 30 minutes before opening. At rope drop, we will shoot straight for EE and have our one teenager (fastest one) go w/the tickets as well so he can get first FPs available FOR EE. We plan to ride EE immediately, then hopefully hop back on w/our FPs. After that, we plan to go to Safari and either ride or FP at that point.

How would that work for a plan?

I'm just sitting here thinking that I'm going to have to start training my kids for the 'fast pass sprint'. Need to make sure they are in tip top 'fast pass' shape to make this thing work! Maybe I'll just offer $10 Mickey dollars to the kid willing to run for the fast passes on the other side of the park. I'm thinkin that might just work...strategy.... that's what important.

Your fast passes are good any time after the earliest time on the fast pass (you don't just have an hour to use them) so it won't matter if you're on KS. Kali and EE are close together, but EE/Kali and KS are not. Animal Kingdom is a very spread out park and involves alot of walking. We love it though, enjoy!

I hope this is not a controversial question, but is it okay to divide and conquer? I mean, could DH and DS go over to the Safari ride and get in line while I went to get FP's for EE, then hustle over to the Safari ride to join them in line?

If you are the only one joining them in line I don't see how anyone can complain, its only when you see a big group join 1 person already in line that people get upset. But I wouldn't shout that you just got fast passes for EE. Maybe just say "wow was that a relief". hehe Not really lying because getting the fast passes for EE was a relief.

the initial line for the safari will not be bad becasue everyone will be heading to ee. i would go on ee, first, grab fast passes for ee, and then head to the safari...you will be on the safari within 15 minutes from when you would ahve been on it if you went straight to it, and the animals will still be out in force.
