EE later in the day

We usually go to Disney the end of August when crowds are low. We arrive at AK for rope drop and my kids usually ride EE about 5 or 6 times before the line gets too long. This year we will be going in early August and I know the crowds will be bigger. We were thinking of arriving at AK around lunch time and staying until closing. How is EE the last hour or so the park is open? Would my kids be able to ride it multiple times at that point or does it usually have a big line up until closing like Soarin'?

I've always been able to cycle through the stand-by line several times during that last hour.

DAK usually clears out significantly late in the day so, when it is open until 7 PM or later EE usually has short lines right before closing.

If your kids are old enough to use the single rider line, that is almost certain to be very short.

We were there in the middle of last July. We arrived at 4 and waited standby for about 20-25 minutes. If there had not been thunderstorms in the area, we could have waited again for less than that and ridden a few more times. We decided not to press our luck as the clouds looked ominous- and it was pouring by the time we boarded the bus back to the hotel.

I am not sure how FP+ will affect things, but historically AK clears out once the 3 pm parade finishes. Any time after 4 should give you very low standby times, and the last hour should be continuous walk on even in early August.
