EE DCA or Not?

We will be staying at GCH Saturday - Wednesday in June. Our park days are Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. We are going to do EE at DCA on Monday and DL on Tuesday.

This is my first time ever at DLR. With Sunday being our first park day, we would need to enter DCA if we took advantage of EE. We do have hoppers and could head to DL at 11:00. But it is a bit disappointing for my first steps into the California parks not being Disneyland if we take advantage of EE. On the other hand, maybe if we are hopping to Disneyland, we would not feel the need to head to our first ride in a frenzy and could take our time and just enjoy being at the park.

Thoughts?

Is this is your only reason to not EE at DCA? When you go to WDW, do you always go to MK first? Do you ever start at Epcot?

That said, it is more than just EE. It means staying in DCA until 11 am on the first two days of your trip. Disneyland will be a lot less crowded before 11 am. If your objective is to go on as many rides at Disneyland as you can, you might want to start in Disneyland two of your three days.

Be aware that EE is only 30 minutes. Lines to get into the DCA from the GC can be long. I'm sure others can chime in about the best entrance and strategy for EE at DCA. Examples:

Thanks for the advice! I made my park reservations with DL being Sunday and Tuesday. I will stay with that plan! I love MK and know I will love DL, too. So, we will want to spend as long as possible at that park.

Thank you for the links, too!

I think that is the best plan. EE DCA on one morning is fine, and DL park on Sunday morning up til about 11 usually is wonderful.

That's what I'd do as well. We have 5 day hoppers coming up staying at the DLH and our first day in the park is a DCA EE day, but we're doing DL rope drop instead because being at DL the first day is a big deal for us!
