EE day vs. Spectromagic Day at MK

We're going to WDW Nov 6-13. I did my itinerary and scheduled us for MK on a Sunday. I now see that this is an early entry day. But, I know that Monday is Spectromagic and we found the park to be busy all day last time we were at the MK because of the parade. Should I avoid the park both days? I thought that I read somewhere that Sunday is the best day to go to the MK since most people are departing or coming that day and I thought that Sat and Mon were the days to avoid. I know that my family won't want to wait until later in the week to go there. We are staying on site, but I'm not sure I could get them up in time for EE. Any suggestions?:confused:

We will be in WDW from Nov6-12 and also planning to go to MK first (on Sunday) as this is first trip for DH's folks and we just thought it made more sense to go to MK first to get the flavour of Disney.

I am looking to find out when the EE's are scheduled for each park and what days are best to avoid each park. Can anyone help me where this info is posted?

I found out the days each park is open for Early Entry, aka EE Days:

Sunday - MK
Monday - AK
Tuesday - MGM
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - MK
Friday - AK
Saturday - MGM

Since we are staying on site, we now have the option of arriving 1 hour earlier to get a head start.

However, are there certain days that a given park is best avoided. MK on Saturday is a given, but how is Sunday?
And what about the other parks? I know there is a list somewhere, that shows which parks are busiest on which days. Can anyone refer me?

You are correct about the early entry days. Here is a link pertaining to "Historic Park Attendance" which not only breaks down attendance to "Seasons" of the year but it breaks down attendance based on days of the week.

http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/attend.htm

Armed with this info, I generally go to the various parks that are having an EE day and is historically a light day.

Hope This Helps,
Bruce

Thanks for the link. I was searching for that and you led the way!

If the information on what days are the busiest at each park are still accurate, it seems that the Early Entry days or Magical Hour days do not have a huge impact on park attendance, when I thought it would. Maybe those staying off-site decide to go elsewhere?!

To recap, the busiest days for each park are:

MK - Monday, Thursday, Saturday
Epcot - Tuesday, Friday
DS-MGM - Sunday, Wednesday
AK - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Except for AK, those are the old early open days. I suspect that is where this info came from, so it's out of date.

I got the days for EE or Extra Magical Hour Days from the link at allearsnet - however, I have no way of knowing how current they are. Which is why I hate to go to an alternate source, even though they have a great website.

If I call my resort, CRO or the WDTC directly, will they give me the correct days for this or does anyone who has recently been to WDW able to let us know the correct dates for Extra/Early Magical Hour at each of the parks?

Many thanks, folks!

last time i looked the ee days on allearsnet are correct. in slower seasons it doesn't make much of an impact in how many are there imo...at least i never have noticed it in Dec or Jan . with the exception of Mk/ DQ on Sat there have never been manyreally big crowds in off season .the only time i think it has been busy during an ee day was marathon sunday in Jan at ak, it was ee but the marathon was going through at the same time as ee (and later) and it was pretty congested since many walkways were blocked. then many shows opened later so more people trying to do less attractions. THAT was mess!

.Mk sun,Thurs
ak, Mon, Fri,
epcot weds.
mgm.sat and Tues

that is from the ug 05, and what they were in jan of 04 occasionally they change without warning( like for the marathon last Jan) but i think that is not that common

Reading over the posts again for this thread, there are two different lists here - one showing the Extra Magical Hour days (formerly called Early Entry days) for each park and another list showing the busiest days in each park. Both are different.

For example:

The busiest days for MK are Monday, Thursday and Saturday;
MK opens early on Sunday and Thursday.

The busiest days for MGM are Sunday and Wednesday;
MGM opens early on Tuesday and Saturday.

The busiest days for Epcot are Tuesday and Friday;
Epcot opens early on Wednesday.

The busiest days for AK are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday;
AK opens early on Monday and Friday.

think that is because 2 questions were asked, one about ee days and one about busiest days

The All Ears EE days is correct. I would go to MK on EE, then hop to a different park in the afternoon. We went to EE at MK on a Sunday, then to Epcot (you can monorail it). It was a great plan. There are so many rides at MK that will have long lines later in the day. For the rest of the trip, we went to the parks the DAY AFTER they had EE. They were less crowded. You might want to return to MK on Mon. evening to see Spectro. Grab a fast pass for one of your favorite rides when you get to the park. Using fast pass really helps when it's crowded.

I think you will be at Disney during Super Soap Weekend. Definitely avoid MGM on Saturday if you want to avoid crowds, maybe Sunday too.
