Is this change definite? Can anyone explain why? My first trip to WDW is April 5 - 9, and we don't arrive until noon on Monday. We're staying at the Contemporary, and it has taken me a long time to save for a stay at a deluxe resort. EE is one of the privileges that makes the extra $$ it costs well worth it.
April 8 was the only EE day that we had at MK! I was really looking forward to taking my 6 yr. old DD there that day and avoiding some of the Easter crowd. What a disappointment...
(I know we'll still have a good time, but this a bummer)

:(

Sorry to say, but according to the employee's website that has the hours and activities posted, it is showing NO EMH at MK on the 8th. But keep in mind that the hours for the whole week are 8:00 AM to midnight at MK. I personally found EMH at MK more crowded than any other day and we no longer go to the park with EMH. We have found that we can do more at MK during the regular days than EMH, but that's just MHO. We go to WDW every 2-3 months and called it quits to EMH last July 2003 (we have since gone in October 2003 and February 2004 and avoid the parks with EMH and are much happier). I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but PLEASE, check when you checkin, because you never know if this may change.

That is correct. No MK EMH day on April 8 ... it will be MGM instead. They are expecting huge crowds at MK all that week and are trying manage them a bit by taking focus off MK in the EMH hours. And, truly, even if there were an EMH day on April 8, you and your DD would not have avoided any sorts of crowds. You'll be in the thick of it wherever you are that week!

:earsboy:

It looks like they are opening at 8 a.m. anyway. With an opening that early, the crowds shouldn't be super heavy. I know there will still many die hard commandos that will ge there at opening, but the majority of the crowds arrive around 10 a.m.

If they did offer the EMH I can't imagine getting up early enough to arrive before 7 a.m.!!! I sleep in & take the late shift - leaving at midnight!!! :D

Noopy, I know how you feel. I too was looking forward to doing EE at the MK on the 8th. I was hoping my niece and nephew would be able to do Fantasyland without the massive crowds that will be there later. My son and I will get to do EE on the 4th, but my sister's family won't get to Orlando until that night.:(

Noopy - I was there during Christmas week (CROWDED!) and will also be there Apr. 6 -8 (although I am planning on avoiding the MK this trip) - and I would highly recommend being at the MK at 8am on any day other than April 8th! (Because many people will not have heard about the EMH change, so will go to the MK because that was what their plan dictated). Even so - there are not that many people who get up and at the parks at 8am! Most rides will be a walk-on for the first hour at least!

The biggest benefit to staying at the Contemp. during this busy period (IMHO) is that you are a 5 minute walk to the MK (the monorail takes 20 minutes going to the MK, but only a few minutes coming back - because of the direction that it circles Seven seas lagoon) - and can easily go to the MK at 8am, do many rides, and get out of there before the major crowds show up at 10 -11 am. (go back, swim, rest, or go to a different park).

I agree with N2MM - EMH doesn't really give you much of touring edge - because the park ends up being extra-crowded all day because so many people came to take advantage of it! (I go to WDW about 6 times a year - busy and non-busy times, and that's what I've come to believe!). So!! Chin-up -- Think of the bright side- you get an extra hour of sleep! Your vacation will still be wonderful!

Thanks everyone! I feel a bit better about losing my one EE day at MK. To be honest, though, I would have been there at 6:30 am waiting for EE in a heartbeat! Of course, it helps that I get up at 5:30 am every weekday morning to go to work!
Thanks again!
