Edwin left..new guide Jim McCoy

I called today to ask about the current $15 off and was told Edwin Rivera has left DVC. The woman who answered the phone almost didn't want to tell me that he wasn't there. Made it sound like he was out for the day and then had to tell me the truth when I told her I wanted to add on.

I was told I was not assigned another guide yet but then I got Jim McCoy on the phone who said he was my new guide. Sounds very knowledgable. I see on the guide list here on DIS that many of you have him also.

Looking forward to calling next week and finalizing the add-on.
 
Oh no! Edwin was my guide too and we really liked him. Will DVC notify us who our new guide is without us having to call them?
 
I liked working with him as well. We ran into him walking around SSR on our trip in April. It was nice to put a face to the voice.

I am not sure if they will notify us who your new guide is...I just happened to call and happened to find out.

It happened to me and I never got a call. I happened to notice on one of the mailers that DVC sent that it said my guides name. When I realized it was someone different then I called and they said "UM....... Oh yeah, you have a new guide. No big deal but I wasn't notified.
 
The only constent Guides at Disney are the Fab Five and itlooks like Stitch is even trying to hawk in on them.

Ours changed right after we bought.Haven't talked to our new one yet.

What a menacing and annoying little character. If I could only find him in the monorail I would do something very un-Disney to him! :stir:

You are in good hands. Jim is our guide, and I have found him to be very knowledgable and patient. He has never pressured us, and has been helpful even after we ended up buying a resale! :crazy:

We have nothing but the great things to say about Jim McCoy!

Very knowledgable. Super nice. Very attentive/responsive.

Jims a great guy been my brothers guide since 95 sister 04 mine since 05 has whole family wrapped up can't ask for a nicer guy
 
I don't understand the bond between DVC :confused3 members and their guides. My guide was very nice and helpful on our original purchase, but except for the promotional mailers that come with her contact information on the bottom I have never heard from her. I have added to my original purchase with three other contracts, and always made the call to member service without regard to speaking with my guide. I guess I always automatically got connected to my guide, but was not concerned with who handled my transactions. Am I missing something? Are there perks or benefits I am not receiving?
 
Wow, I've been through two guides already. Mary was my first guide, then they gave me Edwin when she left....maybe it's me... ;)

I've read this several times on this board. I think it is about : the fact that these people are the link between themselves and DVC euphoria. :love:

I guess your guide is not like mine. The day AKV was announced I called my guide. Gib laughed and said he knew he would be hearing from me since I finally got my favorite resort.

We do not talk too often BUT he either has a phenominal memory or takes great notes because he knows everything I have ever discussed with him.
