I heard that John Edwards was at WDW when he got the call from Kerry ...anybody know where he was staying...or what theme park he was in at the time???? Talk about Disney Magic!

WASHINGTON July 5, 2004 — Sen. John Edwards interrupted his Walt Disney World vacation last week to meet with Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, adding a new level of intrigue to the vice presidential search.

He was at WDW with his family but I don't know the details

I think Edwards was at MK at the Hall of Presidents when he got the call.

I haven't heard anymore than you have. His vice presidental nomination was leaked by an US Air employee whom saw maintenance crews attaching Edwards decals to Kerry's jet.

Oh, please, they had camera's focused on that plane at 4:00 a.m. waiting for the decals to go on. I was watching FOX News and they kept showing the plane at least every 10 minutes.

I heard they are referring Kerry as "Mr. Howell" and Edwards as "The Gilligan". Ah, the typecasting begins.

Boy, Id be pretty ticked if someone took me away from my WDW vacation to ask me to be VP. The nerve of some people. ;) :teeth:

Well, it quite obvious that Sen. Edwards is no fan of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy! Anyone who'd leave a WDW vacation for the possibility of being VP is not a true-blue Disney fan. :( ;)

See...typical dirty politics from the right....At least Senator Edwards WENT to WDW, which is more than you can say for Cheney (who, I understand, was focusing on other obligations) or Bush (who went to a small carnival in Alabame, but claims it was every bit as good as visiting the Magic Kingdom).

:teeth: :rolleyes1

Huh? :scratchin It was a joke. I jokingly said something similiar yesterday on another thread. They say the first casuality of war is the truth, I think the first casuality of politics is a sense of humor ;)

I heard he was complaining in hopes of an upgrade

:rotfl:

I heard he demanded a clean comforter and was livid he received no towel animals

At the risk of speaking out of turn and for someone else, I took wvrevy's reply as a joke. That's why I used the :smooth: (smooth) smilie and the :wave2: (wave) smilie. Maybe my Prozac kicked in early today, but I thought his post was very humorous! (Still do!)

Actually he was seen using a refillable mug from All Star Movies at Pop Century!!!

Upgrade his ROOM or his place on the ticket?

And pool-hopping at the Poly, GF and Beach Club! :earseek:

Ya know...someone not usually from the dis could get hold of this thread and we'd have a national scandal! Can you see the headlines?:p :teeth:

It was...But apparently they were right about that sense of humor thing :teeth:

TORI I was just making a funny by turning the "He left WDW for politics" thing into a pun on the Vietnam thing (hence the thing about Cheney pursuing other goals and Dubya sorta-but-not-quite fulfilling his obligations)...It really was just a joke on my part....Sorry for the misunderstanding.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: I bet John and Elizabeth put out towels in the early morning hours and took up valuable lounge chair real estate while they went to the parks.
