I often edit my posts when I reread them and notice spelling or grammatical errors, I notice that others will explain why they are editing when they edit. What's up with that.

If I'm adding a new thought, I'll write "edited to add", so people reading know there's something new there. If I'm fixing typos, I just fix them.

One of the boards that I post on actually has a little box to input your reason for editing a response.

Sometimes I'll write a response before I read through all the other replies and then after adding my response and reading through all the others I might have more to add.

If I'm just adding to fix gramatical errors or something, then I won't say anything about it.

I wondered about that, too. I use the term "edited" if it is an update, but for typos I just do it. Once I went back to an old post and deleted a couple of words after I thought they might not be considered "G-rated". Although it looks like you can delete, I have never been successful. (I just posted something twice, and tried to delte one...wouldn't let me).

What if you went in and edited something that others had responded to and totally changed the meaning of it? I would think that shouldn't be allowed, but I guess it is.?

We all make mistakes and a few errors here and there I don't mind, but sometimes I read things that have SOOOOOOOOO many errors. It's crazy!! Do they reread what they write? Sometimes I can't even make out what they are saying. It's so annoying!

(edited to add a mad smilie)

(Just kidding)
