This is for Goofster!! Look I did it! FINALLY! Thanks so much for telling me how...and it is so easy! I did my whole son's basketball photos this weekend. Photo in B/W and just the basketball in color. Very cool!

Today's photo takes parts from two others to make a collage of an almost famous movie:

Joe do u use Photoshop for Editing your photos?
if not what program do u use:confused3
your pictures are always so beautiful:thumbsup2

Thanks Kelsey... I don't use Photoshop. I've never really even looked into it to be honest.

There are four editors that I use depending upon what I need to do:

Faststone Image Viewer (free) - I like this one for resizing and cropping mainly

Picasa (free) - I like some of the simple editing techniques that really just require a push of a button or dragging a slider

Dynamic-Photo HDR - ($39.00) I use this one when I want to create an HDR (or HDR like) image, but I also use it for "tone mapping" fairly regularly

Noise Ninja ($34.95) - I use Noise Ninja to automatically eliminate "noise" or "grain" from the high ISO pictures

Joe , How easy or hard to use is the above program ? I really like the effects you have gotten with it ( they are very cool) and I would like to give it a try. I have Photoshop CS2 and I do ok with it and of course I have and love Picassa, it doesn't get any easier than that :)

It's really not bad Nichole. The reason I haven't gotten into Photoshop is because it looks too complicated... well, that and the cost. I tried the trial version of Dynamic-Photo HDR, and purchased it 1/2 hour later. If you end up purchasing it, read the pdf owner's manual - it clarifies a lot of things. The thing I like about the program is that it will still tone map a single jpeg. Of course, the best results are from multiple jpegs at different exposure compensations. You can also use a single RAW file and adjust the exposure in your RAW editor saving several jpegs. But I don't think it does to bad with a single jpeg if not overdone.

It's a fairly simple program to learn - I'd give it a try...

Thanks Joe. I didn't see the trial version but that sounds good, I will try it. Like I said I really like the results you got with it. Photoshop is complicated if you are technically challenged like me :rolleyes1 Dh got it for me and he has helped me with it a lot thankfully. Thanks for the info Joe , you are always very helpful. :)

Unfortunately, I don't know why you can't see the pictures. Try asking over on the technical support forum. That's where the board guru's abide, they should be able to get you up and going in no time.
