I thought I would post a response that I received from Wide world of Sports. I thought it might be helpful to other Disers! It reflects Old Key West since that is there we are staying.......

Thank you for contacting us.

Please excuse the delay, but I wanted to confirm all information prior
to responding to you.

Please note that there are only two buses that go to Disney's Wide World
of Sports, and only one is operational at a time.

During the day, the bus that goes to Disney's Wide World of Sports runs
from the Disney-MGM Studios. At night, the bus runs from Downtown
Disney to Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Bus transportation will run until the baseball stadium is clear of all
spectators.

As for when the change occurs from the Disney-MGM Studios to Downtown
Disney, that fluctuates depending on the operation hours for the
Studios. I was told that most likely the change would occur at 8:30 pm.

So, for bus transportation, you will need to leave Old Key West, and go
to the Disney-MGM Studios, exit the bus, and then board one going to
Disney's Wide World of Sports. And, after the conclusion of the game,
you would need to board a bus going to Downtown Disney, exit that bus,
and then board a bus to take you back to Old Key West. Please note that
the buses run about every 20 minutes, but I am guessing that there will
be several buses available at the conclusion of your game.

As for the length of the game, that is not a definite. We generally
estimate three hours, but you could have a few quick innings or one or
two that last 45 minutes each. It is really hard to say.

Thanks again for contacting us, and please let me know if there is
anything else that we can do to assist you.

We have tickets to the Atlanta Braves spring training game on Tuesday March 14th at 7:05. Are there buses there that take people back to their resorts since MGM will be closed by the time the games is over? If so how long after the game do they run? Do they run only every hour, every 20 minutes etc? We are trying to figure out if taking a cab after the game would be a better option. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone for your help!!

I guess I am just bumping this up so that someone who does know can answer.

But everything that I've seen says the busses stop running at 8PM no matter what is going on at WWOS. After that, your only option is a taxi.

Ed

I'm pretty sure that is correct. After 8pm your ONLY choice is a taxi. No more buses from WWoS.

I asked this question on the board earlier. We're going to a Braves?Cards game on the afternoon of the 12th and a World Baseball Classic game on the night of March 9. I was told that the bus stops running after 8, so we'll have to take a taxi on the 9th. I don't know where you're staying, but another poster told me the taxi fare from Cracker Jack St. to CSR was around $9.50. Am I correct that the bus runs only to MGM? Too bad we're not going to the same game. We could share a taxi!!

Yes, everyone is correct. Regardless of activities at WWoS, the last bus will be at 8:00pm and will only go to the Disney-MGM Studios.

Thanks everyone for your help. :cool1: It is nice to know what we have to do before we go. Corinascot, sharing a taxi would have been fun. Have a good time at the game. We are looking forward to it. This will be our first time going.

Thanks Again!

Thanks for posting this! I emailed WDW about transportation between WWoS and the parks but haven't heard back yet. We're going to games on 3/11, 3/12, and 3/13 which all are 1:05 pm start time. I wonder which would really be faster, taking the bus and not loosing our parking spot or driving. Couple years ago parking and getting in and out of the games was not that bad.

I'm from Oregon as well, funny that we'll just miss each other. Probably will pass in the air (I'm flying out of Seattle instead of Portland)

Glad that I could help! I was having problems figuring out the bus situation, so I thought other people might be also.

We are flying out of Portland on Sat the 11th. It was much cheaper and more direct than flying out of Eugene where we live. Besides which, gives me an excuse to shop when we come home ( if I can convience my husband)

Have a great time!!

The only reason we're flying out of Seattle, since it was just a matter of dollars difference in the price, is that my best friend (who I'm going with) lives in Seattle and I live in Portland. So one of us would have to drive to the other either way. That's easier than flying alone and trying to co-ordinate flights. We got an absolute steal I think, thanks to www.kayak.com I think it was $219 round trip, Seattle to Orlando with only one stop in Chicago that's less than an hour.

Amber

Wow! Great price! We are paying 288.00 and have a layover in Dallas. The price was much better than flying out of Eugene, I think Eugene at the time was 350.00. Have a great time!

Kristi

Kristi,
Thanks for the information! I wonder if they'll have the same schedule for the World Baseball Classic games, or if it's just for the Braves? This is our first trip to WDW without our car (we're flying rather than driving.) One of our transportation problems was solved when we offered a ticket to a friend from Orlando. She said she'd drive us back to CSR after the game. The evening WBC game will require the bus or taxi.

Have a great trip!

I'm confused. If what everyone has said in this thread so far is correct, are buses from Wide World of Sports to Downtown Disney running until everyone has left the stadium, as described by the OP, a new service or a discontinued service?

Also, if there are buses running but a large crowd of people waiting late in the evening, many folks will give up and take cabs.

Well the games I'm going to start at 1:05 pm so the stadium should be empty by the 8 pm stop time. However I think we've decided to just drive, parking/leaving wasn't that bad last time. Matter of fact it was the fastest moving large exodus I have ever been in. Plus we might not go straight back to the parks after the games. But for the games that don't start til 7:05 (or whatever the evening time is) you could catch a bus to the game but not back from it. At least that's the way I understand it.
