My family, parents, sister (with niece and nephew) were booked on the Dream that was cancelled from a Irma. We have rescheduled but now Theresa potential issue that has come up.

My daughter and niece were excited to spend time together as many cousins are. My nieces bday is next week and it just dawned on me that she will be 11(my daughter just turned 10.) Will my niece be forced to go to Edge and not be allowed in Oceaneers Club? This was the biggest reason for the trip for the kids to spend time with each other.

Oceaneer's Club/Lab is ages 3-12. Edge is 11-14. The 11 year old will be able to participate in both Oceaneer's and Edge, if she wishes.

Gotcha! Thank you. I could only
find info that said edge was 11-14. My sister would not have been happy and I’m not in the mood to walk on eggshells ;)

You could also give permission for the 10 year old to go the Edge with her cousin. I did this on my last cruise my daughter wasn't old enough to go to Vibe with her cousin but I had to sign a form and they allowed her on as long as Vibe wasn't at capacity . It is worth checking into .

I thought the same at first, had to read it several times. Lol

ESPECIALLY with the title, "Oh no!"
My stomach turned.:crazy2:

"Theresa' is typing error for "there is", I think. Maybe OP could edit the post to prevent any future heart attacks from reading this post! hahaha:rotfl2:

You can also sign a waiver for the 10 year old to go to Edge with the cousin. My son was so excited to go with his friends to Edge.

As long as there is space in Edge to allow it. If the number of 11-14 year olds onboard maxes out the number allowed in Edge, a 10 year old cannot be waivered in.

Now I’m curious as to the original title...

It just said "Oh, no!" and, when you'd hover over it, the first line of the post seemed to say that their original Irma-cancelled cruise was now threatened by "Theresa".

Gotcha. Thanks! I crashed early last night.

The waiver is never guaranteed, it is up to the YA's discretion. You are allowed to ask, but be prepared for a no. It is also more common when the child is close to a birthday (ie. turns 11 on the last day of the cruise)

I didn't realize it was a possibility for a ten year old to go to Edge with a waiver and providing that there is space.
Is this on the up and up or it happens on very rare occasion?
This may change our travel plans for 2019 if there is a good chance that they could go to Edge! (They no longer want to go to Oceaneers)

It happens with some regularity but isn't guaranteed ever. And you won't know until you are on the cruise and can ask the CMs in the Edge. When it is granted, the child is usually close to their 11th birthday. A child who is 10 years and 11 months is more likely to be granted admittance than a child who just turned 10. Often it happens when there is a relative or friend who is in the 11-14 age range and the 10 year old wants to be with the older child. But the biggest factor is space. If the sailing already has enough 11-14 year olds to put the club at capacity, they won't let in any 10 year olds.

As @Maggie'sMom said, it is never guaranteed and occurs more commonly near a birthday. I would never change plans going off a possibility that your kids would be very upset if it is false.

Anyone know if Edge to Vibe is the same? 13 year olds can sometimes, but not always go to Vibe?
