Does anyone else like this lullaby? I sit her DISing and listening to my little music box that plays it.

It's the ring tone for my cell phone! I've loved it since the first time I saw "The Sound of Music"!

Not really a lullaby, I would think. It is, to be more precise, a "folk song" manufactured by Rodgers & Hammerstein for "The Sound of Music." Still a nice song -- but not the Austrian song that many people assume it to be,

There is an edelweiss patch at the StoryLand amusement park in NH.

I sing it to my daughter every single night and have since she was an infant..except I change Edelweiss to "AngelFace"(her nickname) and change the end to Bless our home here forever instead of "Bless our homeland forever"

My son askes for "Angel Face" now, so I sing it to him as well.

The funny thing is Julia saw Sound of Music for the 1st time a few months ago and when they started singing Edelweiss she said Mommy! Do you hear that? They're singing my song!!
So sweet!

Ours plays Edelweiss every "even" hour and Happy Wanderer on the "odd" hours.

I love it, too. At our wedding reception it was the music we chose for our first dance. It was played by a jazz quartet with solo clarinet....it was awesome!!
