Not all of this is totally true the verandah issue makes cabins in this category more expensive. On the wonder and the magic its not a problem on the new ships it is. I traveL with an ECV which is mine and need HA always haD A VERANDAH UNTIL THE TRIP THIS YEAR (TWO WEEKS YEAH) I don't need or want a bigger balcony but that's how they come. Then they reclassified all of this which means they are more expensive than normal verandah cabins and I have no option. In fact in two weeks I am in a HA cabin with a porthole (hate the idea) as I simply cannot justify the cost of a 5A which is all that's available so I am being penalised

I see your point we booked an interior GTY accessible. that was what the DCL agent on board the Magic put on our card so she could price the cruise. I called after our final payment since we still had not been assigned I thought since it was accessible it might be assigned sooner. I called and was told we had to pay over 500.00 more to get an accessible interior room. Which was what I thought we had booked. Why should we have to pay another 500.00 more for an accessible cabin than we had to for a regular cabin?
Well the areas where they were directing people to park them where right around the corner from the elevators lobbies. It's where there where electrical outlets so that they could be plugged in to be recharged. At least that was MY EXPERIENCE!
That is what I was told as well and so I was moved to a HC cabin when I told them I would be travelling with an ECV and then low and behold... I saw multiple ECVs parked right around the corner from the elevators!! Seems like there's a communication/enforcement issue! So not so sure that I would worry a whole lot about it because I saw a bunch of them in the hallways on our cruise...Now I wouldn't expect to keep it right outside of your room and the problem with that is there won't be an outlet there to recharge it. Hopefully you have a cabin close to the elevator and you can go and retrieve it yourself?
Good Luck and Let me know if you have any other questions... I am cruising again in about 65 days!
We would have been able to turn easily in the hallway since it was so wide there. However, I had the smallest possible scooter (3 wheel GoGo Traveller) and even without the seat, I could not get it through the door (tires too wide and door does not open completely). I wish you the best. This is so difficult.
We cruise on 9/8 on the Dream and DH is suffering major back pain. He is in therapy right now, but I was so worried that I paid $598.32 to upgrade from aRight from the start (cruise 9 in two weeks) when I asked I was told that I had to have an accessible cabin if I came with an ECV they actually have never officially allowed parking it anywhere else although people may do. One of the things I am going to do this time is see if I can ask someone with a verandah cabin if I can get through their door my ECV is portable and not that big. If I can I would try ad book a verandah cabin by the elevators (to get a turning circle) which would be cheaper. Also if the worst comes to worse I can take the seat off which is the widest part. There will be room to park it in the cabin as I am on my own its worth a look as I will be very surprised if I don't miss having a balcony this time around may also see if an upgrade is available and how much it might cost

Do you know if there are extra outlets in the accessible rooms to charge the scooter. We have done wheelchairs before when he has flairups, but a scooter will be new for him on the 4 night Dream cruise.

Hmmm, sounds like you had an onboard booking? I'm very surprised the OBB agent would book a "GTY accessible" because unless an accessible cabin was truly available in that category - the "GTY" essentially means you were willing to accept whatever stateroom DCL assigned. "GTY" staterooms are only offered when just a few staterooms remain available in the category, and I wouldn't trust that to include an accessible room. You have a legitimate argument that their OBB agent should never have booked you a GTY since you couldn't be assigned an accessible room. You want to make sure you are booked into a specific stateroom that is accessible.
Good luck, I hope you are able to get it straightened out. If it was an OBB, I believe DCL messed that one up.
We are now assigned into 7131 accessible. Would not have been my choice no couch only queen bed and a Murphy bed. We'll see how it works. At least I can have my scooter when needed. I could never make it to guest services by myself to retrieve it.
I hope that it works out fine and you enjoy your trip!![]()
Now we found out the beds do not separate we are three adults myself sister and my son. Now I have to worry about who sleeps on the floor. This is cruise 13 for me so it is a very unlucky number
