ECV route to HDDR

This is a special dinner for hubby and I don't want to spoil our arrival. We have a 4pm reservation. I have read so many confusing posts on how long it takes someone in an ECV using Disney transport--anywhere from 1.5 hours to 4 hours if you are coming from MK.
Which would be the better route to take? Boat (yes, I understand that there is only one that can accommodate ECVs) from Magic Kingdom or Bus to WL then to FW then to FW internal bus?

having stayed at campground and used ECV I would boat over to HDDR. only problems to plan that I see is if a storm is coming and they close the boats or if the lake is too low to line up boat to dock which is very seldom. the boats from MK have always been useable for me other than when a storm rolled in just as we headed there and we just missed low lake by a few days as one boat crew told me. I would boat if possible and unless you are heading there as a storm is coming you should be fine with the boat which the dock is a short walk from HDDR. if they haven't changed remember that ECV/wheelchairs enter thru secret door in the Trails End next door to HDDR. don't let that confuse you like it did me the first time

Actually, I vote to take the bus to Wilderness Lodge, and then transfer to the internal Ft Wilderness bus there.

We stay at WL quite often, and HDDR (and Trail's End, next door) are two of our favorite dining experiences at WDW.

From MK, it takes less than 15 minutes to get to WL (once the bus is underway) and then you may have to wait a maximum of 20 to 25 minutes for the internal bus. Still, allow an hour - you will want to get your Photopass pictures at HDDR before dinner! :)

As an FYI, you will enter HDDR through the Trail's End doors, at the top of the ramps on the right side of Pioneer Hall. CMs will guide you.

Have fun!

Thank all y'all for the input.. This eases my mind as I thought we'd be loosing 4 day-light hours at MK
