ECV rentals at Disneyland?

We are visiting Disneyland for the first time in Feb. Aside from feeling totally dazed and confused at all of the different rides and park set up, I have to figure out renting a scooter. I've always rented from Randy's at WDW. Does the DIS forum even have a list of vendors at Disneyland? I need help! Thanks!

Most people use Apple or Deckert's. Where are you staying? If you don't need it to get to and from your hotel, the park scooters are on the esplanade between the parks and can be taken into both parks.

Deckert's! Apple in Anaheim is horrible! I use Deckert's every time!!!

I am renting in Feb too. Reserved now with Apple but am nervous. Wanted to rent from Deckerts but their website only shows dental tools. Does someone have a phone number for the correct Deckert?

We rented from Deckert's in December. 714-542-5607. We didn't like the first ECV they left for us. I specifically asked for the 3 wheel. They gave us 4wheel. I spoke with the owner and he brought the correct ones and gave us a credit too. I highly recommend them.

They don't have a website, so you might be looking at the wrong thing! Their number is 714-542-5607 and they are the best! I used them all the time, then went with Apple once to "save" a little money and that was a huge mistake! Worst ECV rental ever!

I just rented from A Scooter 4 U, located just north of the Disneyland Resort.

Low rates, great customer service (Ashley is the main person),driver that delivers the scooters and other devices like knee scooters was also great to deal with (I broke the key and he came and fixed the problem and handed me a replacement key within an hour of my call (Was at Knott's at the time). Lots of choices, I opted for the 3 wheel ECV that can be placed in the trunk of the car.

I drove it over 10 miles today around the Anaheim Resort, and the battery was only 25% used at the end of the day.

I highly recommend them. Also very flexible with the return date, and will extended it for just $10 a day.

I don't normally use one,but just had recent cancer surgery and was very happy I got it for a week. We picked it up to make sure we could get it in our trunk, but they will come to my house in West Anaheim near Disneyland to pick it up at no extra charge. Even gave me a discount for paying in cash.

Hey chicken lady,

Thanks for asking questions on Disneyland? I will be there in February and have some of the same question/concerns. I did not get many answers on the Disneyland forum.

I canceled the ECV with Apple and reserved with Deckerts. I liked the lady on the phone. Very professional.
Glad you asked about ECVs in DL.

Did you figure out entrance gate and security with the ECV yet? Have never been asked to do metal detector at WDW with ECV. Sounds like DL metal detectors everyone. I am concerned as I have a metal hip.

The Hunchback, glad to be of assistance....or glad to be just as lost as someone else. I am still having issues with the ECV. I called and reserved one with Deckerts and then got a message on my phone that they no longer will drop off at Comfort Inn Maingate. I will be returning it at Paradise Pier. So, now I need to wait until Monday to call and change things around. Guess I'm going to have to go without on our first evening at Downtown Disney and pick up the scooter at PP early in the am the next day. I wonder if Downtown Disney rents ECVs or wheelchairs? I haven't even thought about security! My whole body makes metal detectors go crazy, so this will be fun. Luckily, my hubby and I are planning on taking things slow. Have a great trip! Let me know if you find out anything interesting, as it sounds like we are going to have parallel trips.

You will most likely go through the metal detectors. At one of the checkpoints there are fewer and there are times where not everyone goes through, but that is rare. They have hand scanners, so if the detector goes off, they will pull you aside and recheck. You can tell them about any medical devices at that point.

Where is the Comfort Inn? There are 2 rental places on Harbor, you could rent for a day there if you'll be passing it. Anaheim's DTD isn't that big, but how far would you be walking from the motel? I'm not sure I've seen a place called "Comfort Inn Maingate," could that be why they won't deliver?

I have read on the Disneyland site that Downtown Disney has manual wheelchairs to rent. Hope you get the scooter worked out. Deckerts had no problem with my hotel but it maybe something between the two businesses. Sounded like others are jumping into help. On this board, they always do.

The metal detector will be a challenge but one that sounds like it can be handled.

We will be there February 12 - 20. Maybe we will run into each other (not literally).

Sorry for the misinformation....we are spending the first night at the Quality Inn - Main Gate Anaheim ( not Comfort Inn). The reason for the screwed up reservation was that the woman who made my reservation on Friday said that she only works a couple of days a week and she didn't realize that they no longer drop scooters at that particular hotel until the manager told her after she was off the phone with me. I did call today and changed the reservation to have them drop it off the next day at Paradise Pier.

Quality Inn looks to be north of Ball, which is about a mile to the nearest scooter rental on Harbor, which are very close to the pedestrian entrance on Harbor. There are no manual wheelchair rentals at DTD and park rentals cannot be taken to DTD. You may want to take a taxi or Uber to DLH if you're going to be on the west side of DTD.

Are you sure that DL wheelchair rentals can't be taken to DTD? DH called Disability services yesterday and they said there were no wheelchairs at DTD but you could rent at main gate DL and take it over to DL.

I think this is a recent change. We just got back from DLR Saturday and we definitely saw the Disney ECV's at and around DTD. I'm thinking the change may have been made when they changed the placement of the security tents. As a matter of fact, one of the evenings we were leaving, the security guard questioned me as to whether my scooter was a Disney rental or off site - said she couldn't tell the difference (mine was red with three wheels, Disney's are grey and have 4 wheels - but no matter).

As far as security - yes, everyone is now asked to go through the metal detectors. First you wait in line to have your bags checked (remember - there are no "no bag" lines at DLR). Then you get in another line for the metal detector. With the scooter, you are asked if you can walk through the detector or will you need to be wanded. You are then instructed to pull the scooter up so it is beyond the detector (if you park it too close, it interferes with the detector) and you then go through. Occasionally, I got a guard who waved me through, but in the 8 days were were there (going into DTD/DLR twice a day) I think this only happened maybe three times.

FWIW- I rented from Deckert's as well. No problems with the scooter or the service.

The terms of the Disney rentals say they can't go to DTD. Unless a CM is standing there, they probably won't stop you now that the security tent is moved. But it doesn't mean that if a CM is there or if a CM sees you they won't stop you from using in DTD.
