I know that at WDW when you rent an ECV you can get another one if you take your receipt to the next park without double charge. Is it the same at USO/IOA? If I rent an ECV at IOA can I take the receipt and go to USO and get another on the same day? TIA :teeth:

I'm pretty sure that it works the same way at USF/IOA but according to their website, you should reserve one in advance to be certain you can get one.

Assistance for Guests With Disabilities

"Wheelchairs are available for rental at $10 per day and Electric Convenience Vehicles ("ECV's) are available for rental at $40 per day. Each rental requires a $50 deposit (credit card imprint acceptable) or a valid photo ID. To ensure that an ECV is available during your visit, it is recommended that you call (407) 224-4233 at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation."

If you call the number listed, they should be able to answer your original question also.

Have you considered renting a scooter for the length of your stay instead of just at the parks? The walk to the parks from the parking lot, the boat dock or any of the onsite hotels is pretty lengthy, too. When my husband had foot surgery a couple of years back, we rented a scooter from Walker Mobility. The price per day was equivilent to the rate charged at the parks but he was able to use it everywhere we went. They deliver right to your hotel and pick it up from the hotel at the end of your stay. They were very dependable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Here's a link to their website just in case you may be interested.

Thank you Lisa, I was also considering that. The only problem is that we won't have a car and have a car service picking us up and transferring us to ASMo half way through our trip. And since it will be 2 ECVs we need because my sister also needs one, I don't think they would fit in the van even dissasembled, there are 11 of us. I wonder if they would deliver a different set of chairs at the ASMo. I'm going to give them a call. Thanks again.

My hunch would be that this wouldn't pose a problem for Walker.
If you're staying onsite at Universal, having a scooter 24/7 would be great as you could use it at CityWalk and the hotels, too. In case you were wondering, we did take the scooter on the boat that goes back and forth to the hotels.

We're definitely staying onsite at USO, we're staying at RPR, I can't wait! You've appeased my fears, thank you!! I am so looking forward to this vacation, you don't know! I WAS wondering about the boats because I've ridden them but my sister hasn't and I really didn't want her to miss out on anything. Thanks again for all your info!:teeth:
