ECV rental prices in parks

Hi everyone!

I cannot get the search to work for me today. My mom is going to need to rent a ECV every day while in the parks. She does not want to rent one offsite, because she says she can handle the walking through the resort (POFQ) and if we go to DTD (she's right, she can handle that smaller amount of walking, its the miles and miles of it in the parks she cant do).

My question is, how much do the parks charge to rent ECV's each day, and can you get a multiday discount? Where do you go to rent the ECV at each of the 4 parks? And, if my mom has never driven one before, how hard are they to handle or will she be able to grasp it fairly easily?

ECV's rent for about $35 a day. I don't think Disney has any plans for multi-day ECV rental, for that you would have to use an off site vendor.

At the MK, ECV/WC rental is now at the Train Station, ground floor.

At EPCOt, ECV/WC rental is to the left after entering the park and at the International Gateway.

At MGM, to the right after entering the park, at Oscars Super Service.

They are pretty ease to master, however my DW has severe arthritis in her hands, so hand throttle type ECV's are not an option for us. YMMV

From Disney site the multi day rental is not available for ECV's

For your convenience, limited rentals are available for Guests with disabilities. Wheelchair and Electric Convenience Vehicle (ECV) rentals are available for a fee of $10.00* for Wheelchairs and $35.00 ‡ for ECVs with a refundable deposit of $5.00. Quantities are limited and subject to availability. Also, ask for the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities, and visit the Guest with Disabilities section of this site.

For Guests who require a wheelchair rental for multiple days, we offer a Length of Stay rental ticket where you make a one-time payment transaction for as many days of rental that you will need. Wheelchairs are available for $8.00* per day. Upon visiting a Theme Park, simply show your receipt at the stroller rental location and you will be expedited through the queue with little or no wait time.

There is also no guarantee that they will have an ECV to rent when you arrive at the parks, so you need to either be prepared to push a wheelchair if they don't have one or plan to rent from one of the off-site places (there are lists in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, located near the top of the board).

The ones for rent in the parks have 4 wheels and are larger and slower than the ones you can rent from off-site. You can have her try out similar ones at stores like Walmart, Sam's Club or Target. The big difference will be that the store ones have a cart attached.
Most people find the off-site rental ones easier to drive because they are a bit smaller and have a smaller turn space. My FIL liked the park ones because they were slow, but many people like the off-site ones because they are a bit more peppy.

MGM has been the worst place for me to try to rent one. They are usually out of ECV's within 2 hours of opening.
