I am going to be having some surgery in February, and we are going to DL in March for 4 days. I will be fine for the most part, but want to rent an ECV to be delivered to the hotel (staying at Hojos) for the duration of my trip to make things easier. I don't think I will be able to walk long distances before getting exhausted.
Anyone know of a good company I can rent from? Thanks in advance.

In general it's usually a better deal to rent an ECV from an outside firm. Not only is it less expensive, it also guarantees that you'll have the ECV available all the time. For more great info for those with disabilities who are planning a trip to Disneyland, including suppliers of rental ECVs, I recommend Teri's Disney Travelers' Disability FAQ.

sorry i am computer challenged

The link that disneedee posted above has good information, including a link to a list of a couple offsite companies that rent ECV's in Anaheim. However, one company that I've used (and has been mentioned numerous times on this board) is missing from the list:

Deckert Surgical in Santa Ana (714-542-5607). My cost two months ago was $170 for 5 days = $34/day. If you rent for fewer days, the cost/day is higher, but it's still cheaper than onsite rentals. You can find more information in the following two recent posts:

Does DL rent wheelchairs?

I rented a wheelchair from deckerts recently. The customer service was excelant. The chair was waiting for us when we arrived at the DLH.

A few days into the trip the wheel bent when it got stuck going up an incline on the way back to the room for the night. First thing the next morning Mr. Deckert himself came out and replaced the wheelchair. i was worried that he was going to charge us for the broken wheel but he let it slide. He said it happens all the time.

I would recommend Deckert's in a heartbeat.

Does deckerts have a website?? I cant seem to find one.

There is a rental office at the ramada maingate, and it made it super easy when we were there last June. The machine we rented even broke down, an they replaced it for us- I on't know the name of the compnay, but they are atthe ramada maingate.... :)
