We are going in May staying at the Poly and will have an ECV. I’m just looking to see if anyone can tell me their experiences using the monorail with the ECV. Any extended waits due to having one? Easy on and off?

Thanks

I didn't notice any extended wait with an ECV. It's a pretty easy process of driving on, and then backing out. They will ask you what stop you're going to and call ahead so the CMs can be ready to help you exit. As far as Disney transportation goes, I thought the monorail was one of the easiest for a CMV

It’s not usually an issue. Do be cognizant that to get aboard at the MK, Epcot (cant remember exactly) and the TTC, you use a ramp, not an elevator. It can be a battery drain. I usually ask a companion to gently push me up to help conserve battery.

The only issue we had was perhaps late afternoon on a party day, lots of people leaving MK(but not getting off at our stop) and party people going. We had to wait for an extra train or two for an empty enough car for the scooter. Way easier than the buses. Just go slow.

My mom has. Never had any issues. They have handicapped sections of monorail that they don't fill until.the very end/leave open for ecvs.

Be aware of if the monorail looks like it’s about to take off while you’re sitting inside waiting for a ramp and be vocal if you think you’re about to be left behind. My Dad was 🤦🏻‍♀️

On a crowded day my Dad ended up in one car and we were in another. We waited on the platform at CR but the CMs shooed us along so we said the man in the ECV down there needs to get out he’s with us. A CM said we are getting him PLEASE move along so we did. He didn’t show. We went back up and to their utter embarrassment they had gotten some other dude off but left Dad. So, Dad got to enjoy a 40 min scenic tour of Seven Seas Lagoon on the way to dinner… It was Disney and we all stayed in good spirits but lesson learned. Pay attention and get vocal if you need to.

the thing that was hardest for me was the couple of stops where you have to back off, no room to turn around in car. took a couple of times to get it down. times I was there when you got to front of line you were placed in one of 2 cars for easy of getting ramp to you. yes there is a short ramp in and out of cars

Been doing it for years. If you pull straight in, you can just backup straight out. There is always a CM to help make sure you are in line. Only thing you need to be careful of is that you wait until you are completely off the ramp to turn.

Staying at a monorail resort is an easy choice with an ECV! I often do a split stay with an Epcot resort… makes for the perfect trip.

For all stations, they bring out a metal ramp that you drive across to enter or leave the monorail car. The CMs are usually pretty attentive, but on occasion they get busy.
