ECV in standby line for FOP

Am not sure about stand by line as have never been through it. But we definitely take my Mom's ECV through the fastpass line with no issues. I would assume the same for the stand by line.

FOP = Flight of Passage, the ride in Animal Kingdom's Pandora.

Thank you, Tiggerish.

Can an ECV go into the standby line to ride the FOP? Or do I need to transfer to a manual wheelchair?

I used the standby line in June 2018. It was late at night and I just wanted to see if I could fit. I couldn't. And it wasn't for a lack of trying by the Disney cast member. I didn't have any problem going through the standby line. I easily made all of the U-turns. It was a very long line. They separated me at the very end because I was on my mobility scooter. The Disney cast members guided me behind all of the other guests to the last attraction ride.

I tried using all of the tricks of pulling my chest and abdomen as close to the front as possible. I tried pulling my legs as far to the front as I could. I even tried to lift my heels up in tiptoe position.

I thanked her for trying so hard for me.

She led me out to another hallway. And I exited.

I should have stayed and asked to sit with those that did not want to ride just to see what everyone riding was going to see while they were riding.

I'm going to try in December 2018.

I didn't know they had an area for that! Where is it? Do you get glasses?

Since I knew I was holding up everyone else, I was embarrassed but very thankful for the Disney cast member trying to get the back seat to click closed. When she escorted me out of the immediate ride area, I saw some folks and children in a hallway. I don't know if that is the area. I didn't stick around and exited right away.

They did give me glasses for the ride, but she took them back when I exited.

I did not notice a window or TV in the area where everyone else was not riding. Maybe there was a curtain. I don't know.

There might be another entrance to watch before everyone else enter the ride, but this was my first time entering the line and trying the attraction.

I will try again in December.

Maybe someone else can give you an answer.

If you don’t ride and are waiting inside the attraction for someone, your wait is in a fairly boring room just outside of the exit from the ride room.
If you are using an ECV, they will have you pull all the way thru the ride room and park your ECV there. It will be waiting there for you when you get off.

On the plus side, there is plenty of space, there are benches and water fountains.

Thanks Sue! So, I guess there isn't a viewing area. Rats, my husband would have liked that - the moving 3D stuff makes him very sick.

But that wall color where the water fountains are - looks like a subway, and makes me think I'd not want to drink out of the fountains, LOL!

Just note while the ECV can go though the lines it can not go though the Pre show two at lest 5 minute video. They do have wheelchair if you can not stand for 10+ minutes ( sometimes longer if the ride is delayed more then likely due to someone not fitting)

But a really fun ride

Thank you, Sue. I guess my memory is failing me. I must have misheard the Disney Cast Member when she escorted me out to the exit. I was very embarassed for taking up everyone's time. I did see several people in the area when I left.

Hi, DisneyOma. I'm sorry that I misinformed you. I am glad Sue came back to answer your question.

Thank you, gap2368. I didn't know about the preshow or either I forgot about it.

...I will try again in December....

Rather than going thru the whole line again, there is a sample ride banshee (vehicle) outside the attraction near the entrance that you could try to see if the fit works. I know another post had mentioned that it lacked the support that comes up automatically just before the ride starts, but someone replied that there's a back support that a cast member can manually manipulate.

I should have mentioned- the preshow area is a bit winding and there are 2 rooms.
One time we went, someone had a very, very small ECV and could go in.
The other times, it was a large ECV and the guest left it before the preshow room. They have guests transfer to an attractions wheelchair to go thru the preshow and show. The ECV is waiting at the end in the room on my pictures

Hi, richmo.

I tried that by myself, but no one was around to help me. I thought that I had fit, but I couldn't reach around and figure out how to raise the back rest seat part by myself. It was almost closing time and it was raining on and off, so I am sure the cast members were busy getting ready doing closing the park type duties.

I enjoyed going through the queue. It seemed very long. I just wish that I could have fit in the ride. In December, I'll go earlier to see if I see a cast member to help me fit in the sample banshee ride.

It is an interesting queue and is worth the long wait to go thru...once. As with any major attraction, FoP castmembers rotate positions frequently, so those working outside near the entrance should be well versed in helping with the sample banshee. I think they usually have two cast members working the entrance, so someone should be able to help you out with that. If one doesn't seem willing, find another. It's not worth a two hour wait again to find out that perhaps you can't go on the ride.

I've taken the ECV through the FP line several times and it was very easy to do. I am able to stand and walk for the few minutes needed to get through the last bit of the que before you ride. I wouldn't have wanted to walk through the entire que though because it is long (uphill/downhill, etc).

I just wanted to say it's ridiculous you weren't able to fit in the ride. You shouldn't feel bad for taking up time to try since Disney usually does a much better job with making the rides friendly to everyone....I wouldn't have guessed for you it would be an issue. I have trouble bending my knees but can still manage it - I'm sure the day will come I'll try to ride it and can't bend my knee enough! Try it again in December - maybe you just got a fussy banshee ;)
