Although, in regular life, my mother is very active and mobile, she does have issues (neuropathy, for one) which would make Disney-in-the-heat walking difficult at best. I rented her an ECV from Apple and she is less resistant than I anticipated. :) I wondered if many people use them just to get from one land to another, for instance, and park it while touring that area? Also, any tips on packing the ECV in a small car?

No tips on the car, but I have definitely seen people park the ECV and walk in a localized area and then use it for longer distances. It makes sense, much like a small child with a stroller. The inability to do *all* the walking doesn't need to mean confining yourself. If she can walk comfortably for part of the time and is happier doing so, more power to her.

That's the way I've done it! Don't use an ECV at home, but between breathing issues, balance issues and endurance issues, I use one at Disney. But I still need to get some exercise in while there, so I park it with the strollers and walk around the area.
Can't help with packing it in a car, since we always use the buses or boats.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #5 gives an old procedure for getting an ECV into a car.
